Happy non - fishers!
A super clean, tidy, and comfortable place to stay in laid back Kawhia, The ever changing view over the harbour as the tide rolled in and out was very relaxing and even though the fishing trip was cancelled due to the big swell we had some quality time to chill out. Many thanks to Patsy, our hostess for the part she played in making our stay very special. Jenny

Roomy house
Great location in a quite street, roomy house with comfy beds. The owner was lovely and helpful and mentioned places to see. Sea views were small but patsy did mention she was going to cut back some trees. I must mention the shower was a 2/10 for pressure. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay.Thank you Patsy 😊

Beautiful whare!
We had a wonderful stay in Kawhia - Patsy’s bach is the perfect place for a lovely weekend get away. Plenty of space for everyone and a gorgeous garden with lots of sun to enjoy. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Thank you Patsy for making it so easy for us. Will definitely be back again!

This is the second time we've stayed at this home and we thoroughly enjoyed it again. Awesome contact from Patsy, everything you need at the house and very clean and well maintained. BTW, amazing fishing charter with Dove Charters in Kawhia, we'll definitely be back.

Always enjoy our stay in Kaawhia
I regularly book this accommodation for an annual tribal event in Kaawhia, it's always tidy, cozy and spacious for us all who stay each year. Patsy is so lovely, easy to communicate with and always accommodating. It's a real joy and privilege to stay here every year. Highly recommend to large groups and families.

Was nice , but old. Beautiful location. No fans or aircon so very hot, however just brought us a little fan which was cute of her. Needs a good clean. Host was kind and lovely xx

The house is old as it was built in the early 1980s and it is definitely not dirty. I would suggest if this tenant visits Kawhia again and wants top class accommodation The Sands of Kawhia would be the place to book into

Spacious family home
The house has plenty of space and areas for family members to spread out; large lounge, conservatory, covered deck, and lawn. There were no basic food supplies in the kitchen, eg salt and pepper, oil, tea, coffee, so bring your own. Kāwhia was very hot when we visited, and so was the house, especially the bedrooms in the evening as there are no fans or air conditioning. Lots of mosquitoes bites. Excellent communication from Patsy. Very friendly locals in Kāwhia.

I have never had basic food supplies as it is a house you are renting - not a motel It was unfortunate it was so hot when they visited Kawhia but there are screens in three rooms .However they were good tenants and left house clean and tidy

A wonderful bach in a great location
Patsy is a great host. She even made the beds for us before we arrived and messaged me a few times - once, to tell us there were Orcas in the harbour. She also called by the house to meet us, but unfortunately we were out. The house is/has everything you'd need. The location is good. We enjoyed and recommend Aotea Beach. The hot spring beach is also good, but walking over the sand dune to get there was unbearable as the sand was so hot. The local store closes at 5pm - the owners are very friendly and helpful. The Sands restaurant is great as is the cafe at the local store. All in all, we had a wonderful family holiday. Thank you Patsy for sharing your house with us!

Cozy home, beautiful location
The location cannot be beat - we loved being a short walk to the general store and wharf, and up the hill a bit for peekaboo views of the water. Wi-Fi at the library near the general store. The home feels a bit worn, but very cozy. Soft beds. For the price it felt somewhat basic: we could have used some face towels / washcloths, and a couple other staples that we usually find at other vacation rentals: paper towels, clean sponge, salt/pepper. Patsy was just a phone call away at all times and was warm and welcoming, a wonderful host. We had the perfect amount of space for our family of 6 (ages 6 to 81).

Don't know what this tenant expected It is a comfortable holiday home at the beach which I have had favorable comments for I know it is not top of the range accommodation but it is clean and tidy and I don't think it is over expensive with three bedrooms two bathrooms a well equipped kitchen a lounge a conservatory and a laundry. I always supply hand towels and sheets and towels are optional at a cost if $15.00 per head which they chose

Great host, good location, would stay again.
Our host Patsy was very helpful and called ahead before we arrived to assist us with the how and when of check-in. She even came to the house when our plans changed and we arrived early. She was very friendly and helpful, suggesting we keep our bikes safe in the garage as an extra. Bed was comfy, kitchen had all of the necessaries, good spot and the new deck roof at the rear made a great spot to relax outside, no matter the weather. Great trip.

Well worth the drive
The property was tidy and well kept and the house spacious, comfortable and well equipped. There were even spades provided for visiting the hot water beach! The scenery out to Kawhia is beautiful and well worth the drive. Also loved swimming at Ocean Beach. Patsy is delightful - very friendly and welcoming. Our first visit to Kawhia was most enjoyable and we certainly hope to return in the future.

Nice house in a beautiful quiet town
Really nice place to use as a base, patsy is a lovely host. The house is squeaky clean, basic but comfortable, was perfect for what we needed. It would be great to get a bbq installed. No complaints from us at all.

Great host and good spot to explore Kawhia from
Lots of space for our family of four to spend a few days. Everything was within easy reach and just a 5-10 min walk to the general store, wharf and boat club. Patsy was the perfect host and kindly left us some feijoas!

Nice rooms and space for a group.. We were expecting 2 toilets.. But we will still go back and stay on our next visit.. You do need to bring everything ie salt and pepper etc..
