"I absolutely adored my stay here. The house is beautifully nestled at the top.of the Waitakeres, with a magnificent view of Auckland city. The house itself had a lovely welcoming feel. The owners have taken the time to style the property with a gorgeous collection of antique furniture. I must admit, i was deeply envious of the curtains. The spa was perfect for soaking and napping. The property was very clwan and the owner was an excellent and prompt communicator. I hope to stay again."

"We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. The space was exactly as described, very spacious and cozy. The owners were kind and helpful, the TV was playing up and wouldn’t connect to the internet and they tried their best to get it working. The only things that need to be noted are that because the property has a septic tank the toilet struggles to flush properly and fills up really high with water before it goes back down and need a double flush, and when we first walked into the bathroom there...

"Perfect bach to stay with young kids. It’s a handy walk to the beach and a great place to use as a base to explore Matakana also. Martin was wonderful and so helpful during our stay. Would highly recommend!"

"The hosts are lovely... Sally was so friendly, helpful, allowed me to charged my electric car, which was awesome!.... Excellent location for the village and Saturday Market... easy walking everywhere and just a short drive to the plethora of beaches and tourist activities. The outdoor bath was so great on a starry night.... And I couldn't believe how quiet the place was, considering it's on a main road.... Would I stay here again... absolutely!"

"Very clean and comfortable. Good bed and shower. Plenty of good quality linen. For a longer stay clothes storage might be an issue as most of the wardrobe (could do with more hangers), bedside tables and chest of drawers were taken up with the owner's personal belongings. Our stay was 2 weeks so we kept our suitcases open on the bed in the other bedroom (which is not included in the let). The only problem we had was we could not get the hobs to work! probably something silly we were doing, but the microwave worked so all good. Stunning outlook. "This is a great spot for a group holiday stay. It is close to multiple beaches (but I would recommend driving rather than walking to them). The house has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Jason is a very responsive and kind host."

"This place could be amazing based on its location and layout, but unfortunately it needs some love and attention. The worst feature is by far the bathroom which is utilitarian at best, plus it actually doubles as the washing utility area. There are little things like screw holes in the walls and cheap hooks for hanging clothes which really detract from could be an amazing property. The kitchen is functional and I was able to whip up a decent breakfast with all the appliances available. ...

"We absolutely loved our stay as a volleyball team at the grand retreat and could not have asked for better accommodation. It is super flash, spacious, plenty of bathrooms and sleeping options, quiet location and perfect to access the motorway, beach and sports stadium on the Northshore. It offered amazing options for our girls to keep busy playing basketball, enjoying the spa and sauna, singing karaoke, watching movies and all sitting around to share meals and play card games. "The friendly staff. The room was nice n quiet Parking fees where too expensive for the motel. Oven overhead air filter needed a clean in our room. Luggage trolley would be great. We couldn't eat at the table due to tv being o it,suggest to hang tv on wall. Otherwise our stay was great and enjoyed the stay "
