"Our stay at Ocean Allure Resort in Costa Mujeres was one of the most disappointing resort experiences our family has ever had. The way one of our family members was treated was absolutely disgusting and completely ruined the trip. My cousin and his wife came to celebrate his birthday and their 6-year wedding anniversary, but instead of enjoying a relaxing vacation, his wife, who is Hispanic, was repeatedly disrespected and profiled by resort staff. While shopping for a dress in the gift shop for their anniversary photoshoot later that day, the store manager told another employee in Spanish to watch her closely to make sure she didn’t steal anything. My cousin’s wife responded in Spanish that she had money and had no reason to steal. Instead of apologizing, the manager insinuated she was some kind of escort and would call her “sugar daddy” to send her money. Another incident happened at the lobby bar when a bartender questioned whether she even belonged at the resort and demanded to see her wristband and room number before serving her, despite not treating others around her the same way. Several bartenders throughout the trip were also rude, dismissive, and openly disrespectful to our group. By the end of the vacation, my cousin’s wife was in tears during dinner because of how humiliated and unwelcome she had been made to feel. There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of treatment toward paying guests. Neither me, my wife, nor anyone else in our family will ever return here"

"We paid for ocean view, but not the be right above the music podium with party starting from 7 to 11 p.m every freaking night. And not loud but extremely load. And on top of that the cleaners start cleaning rooms by 7 a.m. horrible experience. Worst experience in all my Stays in Cancun and anywhere else."

"The SLS Playa Mujeres is a stunning, new resort with beautiful rooms and consistently friendly staff. A major highlight is the ability to order food and snacks directly to the pool, eliminating the need to wait in lines. Free room service is incredibly convenient, especially for "nap-trapped" parents or late-night cravings. The concierge service was excellent, always promptly delivering requests (tip: ask for robes and slippers!). The food quality is consistently good, easily an 8/10, and the beach boasts clean, soft sand. The resort's smaller size is a big plus; it's easily navigable with pools, the beach, and restaurants all conveniently located close to one another. The kids pool are is great for babies and small children alike. Small con: no swim up bar in main pool However, the resort's handling of dinner reservations was a significant drawback. A la carte restaurants require reservations (there's no dinner buffet), and the system is severely disorganized. Immediate booking upon arrival is essential due to limited availability, especially for larger groups. Despite being promised seating together, our group was frequently separated, sometimes even placed on opposite sides of the same restaurant. This was particularly frustrating at the Mexican restaurant, where visible empty tables suggested more flexible seating was possible. Even after complaining and clarifying, our group, celebrating two birthdays during our seven-day stay, was only able to sit together once."
