The Griffith observatory tracks dont lead u to the sign. Mt Hollywood Summit is just a look out point with sign in the distance. We tried the other tracks also but they went elsewhere or would take u a looong time. Better to google map it & walk straight from ur hotel to the Canyon Drive trail (go past Bronson caves) & that will take u to the hollywood sign. We didnt get a chance to try this actual route

Didnt know the smog in LA was so bad. It was the most disappointing part about the trip.
