"Near Hells Valley - great onsen, friendly service "

"A nice stopover on way from Niseko to Sapporo. Lovely large rooms. Did not love everything from the kaiseki dinner but the beef sukiyaki was good. Booked the private cypress bath so that we could bathe as a family but i would skip this next time and head straight for the public bath on the high level - large with a view of the forest."

"Paid extra for a suite and it was very nice, highly recommended although quite expensive, food was decent but you can get much better in town"

"Old school, old fashioned (read: dated decor, manual check-outs, actual keys for your room), traditional spa resort. The mixed onsen is great, lots of space and different temperatures so you can easily find your perfect spot. Definitely go half board as the evening buffet is excellent. Highly recommended."

"Traditional hotel with timber floors. Rooms have tatami floors and it consists of male and female onsens. Parking is adjacent to the property, convenient if you are exploring Hakodate in a car."

"No showers in room, need to use Onsen to shower then bath. Wasn't an issue for us but know some people would have a problem with this. "

"Amazing ryokan style hotel, highly recommended. The omakase dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Surpassed our expectations with the hotel and the surrounding area. Beautiful place with lots of outdoor activities depending on the season. We visited during November and it was the most beautiful place we seen in Hokkaido, including the drive into and out of it. This place would be our top priority when we visit Hokkaido again. "

"It’s a old ryokan passed it prime time. It’s basically not bad, but is old and run down. Maybe the Covid period made it worse as the condition of the ryokan deteriorated further without upgrades. Service is good. Far away from city center but there’s shuttle bus."

"First time to Noboribitsu and it was great. It deep down in the mountains in its own little town. Definitely would have to take a bus or taxi in to get to the town"

"Place was beautiful, room was spacious and had everything we needed. Excellent service and a huge shout out to “Ziggy” at the front desk. Upon check in we mentioned that a person in our party doesn’t eat seafood. Ziggy explained that without the advance notice, they are unable to promise that the menu could be changed. However, they were able to be change her menu for both dinner and breakfast! Thank you Ziggy!! We appreciate you!!"

"The hotel is lovely! A bit dated but very well maintained. The included buffet dinner and breakfast were amazing with many choices of Japanese and Western food! Lovely rooftop onsen plus ground floor onsen. The area around the hotel is a quiet with many ships and restaurants closed but that allowed us to enjoy the hotel facilities."

"The staff at the counter don't seems to be able communicate effectively. We checked in quite late and we were told about dinner need reservation before specific time resulting we headed out nearby ramen shop but were not accepting anymore customer. We went back to our room and order for room service but was declined because the staff couldn't speak english. We snacked on our biscuit at the end as our dinner."

"Half Board with dinner and breakfast were not up to expectations! Not traditional Japanese fares that we expected. Ingredients were not of high quality."
