"Clean room, choice of pillows. Coffee maker and milk in the refrigerator was appreciated. Staff is attentive and welcoming. Special thanks to Thea in the bar/restaurant! She is delightful! Easy to walk to harbor,etc. Breakfast was amazing!!!!"

"We have been travelling to 6 different cities in NZ and this by far was the best hotel. Loved every thing about it from the layout of the rooms, amenities, courteous staff. The breakfast was included. It was amazing! It had the best value for your money. Well done !"

"I paid for an Elite King room and I got a room overlooking the side of the building where the grid and utilities are. I would think for an uncharge, I would not get a room with zero view. I traveled all the way from America to stay there, so it was depressing to open the drapes and see that everyday. I should not have pay for a premium room to get that view."

"Private double room was cute and functional, although a little small. Bathroom sink tiny. Bed reasonably comfortable. Some noise from bar music, but not unbearable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great central location. Enjoyed the stay."

"Holiday Inn is in the City Centre and very convenient to shopping and restaurants. Everything is within walking distance. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and good."

"Nice hotel with all the amenities. Nice restaurant. I really wanted to love this hotel but we had so many issues I just can’t. When we arrived at 3 pm our room wasn’t ready and kept getting different excuses. Finally got in at 4pm which wasn’t great after 2 days of flying. Then that night at 5:00 in the morning, someone got into our room with a key. Thankfully we had the safety latch on so they could only open it a few inches but for seniors to be woken in the middle of the night like that was unacceptable and quite scary. Then the next morning when we went down for breakfast which was paid for with our room and they didn’t have us on the list, so we knew something was up. Approached the front desk and found they had us as a no show so the middle of the night intrusion was because they gave our room to someone else. Which caused the next problem. When we went up to our room after our meeting with the manager our key no longer worked. Took them a while to figure that one out. Figured we were done with problems but then again the next morning we were not listed at the breakfast again…another oversight. Which incurred more apologies. I don’t think I have ever had so many apologies in the course of two days that never amounted to much. Apologies are fine but when problems keep occurring it becomes irrelevant. So again I loved everything about this hotel except the customer service so therefore hate to say that I cannot recommend it! "
