As of July 2025 the private onsen are BRAND NEW, the staff told me they just redid them . Do not different than the photos online, but still extremely comfortable. This place is excellent, the staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and so quiet. Very good value

The hotel Is un the middle of nowhere and the options to eat there was too expensive. the Onsen was amazing but one use of 50 minutes per day The room did not have bath o shower, only Toilet and sink

From the moment my family and I arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff ensured you were welcomed and cared for. The private open-air onsen is the highlight of the stay. Nestled amidst the stunning Hakone landscape and Lake Ashinoko, the baths provide breathtaking views of lush greenery and the serene mountain backdrops, depending on the season. The mineral-rich waters are perfectly heated, which left us rejuvenated and relaxed. The privacy adds an intimate touch, making it ideal for couples, families, or solo travelers seeking peace. The accommodations are equally impressive, with traditional Japanese room aesthetics. Tatami mats, and futons create an authentic yet luxurious ambiance. The dining experience is another standout feature. The traditional Japanese breakfast and options for dinner showcase fresh local ingredients. The hotel is conveniently located near the the Hakone Ropeway - Togendai Station as well as the Hakone Shrine. Guests can take the ropeway to Owakudani to experience the famous view of Mt. Fuji, hot spring boiled black eggs and souvenir shops, or go further into nearby town Gora where there are many shops and museums. It is also located near Hakone-en, where there is snow sledding and an aquarium for family fun. There is also another ropeway heading up the mountain to a shrine and panoramic view. I was assisted many times by very friendly and helpful staff who helped bail me out of a couple of very challenging situations. I felt very comfortable and had my best ever sleep in my month long trip to Japan here at YuYu. I would come again! There was an odd smell in one of the rooms which pushed me to change rooms. But this is fixable and I was sleep deprived. Easy fix. Besides that I had a very peaceful stay. Thank you again!
