"Comfortable, clean and convenient. It was a nice hilltop location with a great view. The economy room was cute and cozy. The living areas were enjoyable places to spend time. The walls were thin, but guests were respectful of the quiet hours. "

NEW! Sunrise House - Walk to Bayfront shops and dining. Vintage Hawaiian charm!
10/10 Excellent
"The house is super cute and clean. We only stayed one night so didn’t need the kitchen to cook but it looked well equipped. There is no AC but plenty of fans which worked well for cooling the house. If you are a light sleeper this might be an issue with the noise of the fans and noises at night (frogs and other animals). This was not an issue for us. Our host was fantastic too. Close to downtown too. "
Gorgeous Eco Tiny Home on Organic Farm Within 5 Minutes of Downtown Hilo.
10/10 Excellent
"We had a brief and wonderful stay at the tiny house. Adam is a responsive host at a fantastic location. This tidy, tiny, house had all our family of four needed to end our visit back on the big island. The location felt remote and yet minutes to Hilo’s historic district as well as quick access to the nearby surf break. Gas range and outdoor fireplace under the covered porch made for lovely home cooked and memorable meals. Overall, a gem! "
"The Thomas Guard house is a very special place! The setting is spectacular, with waterfall and jungle views from multiple lanais. There was plenty of space for our group of seven to spread out (including three kids and two grandmas) - everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom, which was ideal for our family. The house is beautifully and lovingly restored and well-maintained. There is no air conditioning, but each bedroom has a ceiling fan and a floor fan, so we all slept in relative comfort. It does get hot so be prepared if you have folks sensitive to heat, but the trade winds do help cool everything down. For guests with young kids, adult supervision is a must if they are outside. The beautiful river setting comes with a steep drop-off along the banks. We arrived the day of a tsunami warning. Charlotte was very kind and was very quick to answer our questions about safety and our ability to check in, which we very much appreciated.Lastly - if you are a light sleeper (or sensitive to noise) - bring ear plugs or white noise. There are lots of lovely jungle critters that are active at night. One in particular (a frog?) made a repetitive sound that kept only one of our party up (me!). Thank you to Charlotte for sharing her one-of-kind home with our family for a special Hilo vacation."

"We loved staying at this lovely home. We opened the door and it immediately felt like home. Extremely clean and neat located and walkable to downtown and only a few minutes from the airport and major roads for activities. Very well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. Our host, Simone, was lovely and left a welcome note, coffee and cookies along with other thoughtful touches throughout. It was the perfect place for our family and we enjoyed our stay very much."
