"Was a great trip"

"Okay, we stayed 2 nights, and in the other review I covered only the "positives". This companion review will cover the less than positive. First, the rooms are VERY small and VERY dated (no sink in the bathroom!?!). Depending on your room placement, your view might be directly into the room of other guests, so curb your privacy expectations. Second, $50/night for guests to park is ridiculous! And, as an added bonus, the parking is in an unsecure lot next to the building. DEFINATELY NOT worth the cost. Third, in daylight, or post-Padre game, walking around in the area is fine. But you should probably avoid any roaming around after dark, especially later in the evening, as the derelicts and degenerates are out in force around the area. Again, great location for a Padre game. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Plenty to do in the area. As for the place itself, don't expect too much."

"Here's our experience with the Omni San Diego Hotel. My family traveled to San Diego for the first time to attend our son's Marine graduation—one of the most important and memorable events of our lives. We chose this hotel based on its location and positive reviews. The room itself was fine, and housekeeping did a decent job. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. Our son's graduation ended around 11:30 AM on Friday. We politely asked for a slightly later checkout so we could return, shower, change clothes, and collect our luggage before heading to the airport. The hotel offered only one extra hour—for an additional $50. Since that didn't really help our situation, we were forced to check out at 5:00 AM and drag all of our luggage with us to the graduation ceremony. The front desk staff was unfriendly and, at times, outright rude. This was especially disappointing considering we weren't asking for anything unreasonable. Another surprise was the "included breakfast" that somehow turned into a $35-per-person breakfast charge. The pool was ice cold. The hot tub water was cloudy and looked dirty, and the hot tub itself wasn't even working. When we asked staff about it, we were basically told it wasn't their concern. The food downstairs was overpriced and, frankly, not worth eating. And as the cherry on top, this hotel sells a can of Coca-Cola for $5. A can that costs about 50 cents elsewhere. That's a 900% markup. We left San Diego disappointed ."

"This location is fantastic, just steps away from a vibrant array of amenities including lively nightlife venues, diverse restaurants, the scenic bay, the nearby zoo, and other attractions. Keep in mind, since it’s right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, the nightlife can be quite lively, which might be disruptive for light sleepers. The room was lovely and cozy, featuring a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and a comfortable sitting area with plush chairs and a small sofa. Overall, it was a really enjoyable stay."

"The room was fantastic, the breakfast was awesome, the location was perfect! Most of all, the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming! I love this place! When I go to San Diego next I will definitely stay there!"
