"Hale Makai was cozy, clean and friendly. We loved being just a few steps away from the beach. There were lots of restaurants and shops in the area. The upgraded amenities made us feel at home. The owners are very thoughtful and put a lot of love into making their guests feel welcome. We would not hesitate to stay with them again and we would highly recommend the property. It wasn't an issue for us, but our only caution to future guests would be the stairs (the elevator wasn't working)."

"We loved our stay at this property for our family trip. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for dining and cooking. The home was also well stocked with beach chairs, towels and sand toys. We found the beds to be comfortable and plenty of extra blankets and pillows available. we had 5 people in our group so we rented a large SUV. we couldn’t use the parking at the house because the garage is for a small sedan only. This is in the listing so we were aware...

"The hosts were amazing. Location is fantastic. The beach is so close and beautiful. An easy and quick walk from the property. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio watching the boats go by and the seals and pelicans fishing in the jetty. Point Loma was a highlight as was Torrey Pines. Beautiful views everywhere you looked. One note on the beaches in San Diego…watch out for the sting rays! Didn’t know you’re supposed to do the “sting ray shuffle” with your feet so they will move away from you....

"The views are amazing! We spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony and listening to the waves, watching the sun set and just enjoying nature. The house is spotless and Marty was very responsive to the few questions I had. We could walk to everything in Ocean Beach."

"Everything about our stay was perfect. The location. The rooms, the kitchen, the view! It was just a beautiful home. The bunk beds allowed for my 3 teens to share a room but not share a bed. The closeness to the beach allowed for easy access back and forth to the beach. Loved that it was so close to all the restaurants and shops. I would stay here again f we came back to san diego. The owner has a great manual for any questions/ recommendations for places to go. But really I would just recommend...

"Really nice place on Mission Bay. Peaceful and quiet mornings on the balcony watching the sunrise. Lots of water activity (sailboats, kayaks, paddle boarders) throughout the day. Close to great restaurants, coffee, bars, the beach. The townhouse is nicely appointed and well stocked. Two parking spots were key. Never needed to move the car, everything within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again!"
