" A traditional hotel with great character which provided everything I needed for four nights stay, with the friendliest and most professional staff I have ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was of an excellent standard and the hotel was sited close to places of interest. I would love to return "

"Stayed here for 1 night. The staff greeted us on arrival and check-in was swift and easy. We were shown to our room and all instructions given. There was a music event on all day which was a fantastic surprise. The atmosphere was brilliant. The food was fantastic on both days. Especially the Sunday roast which was cooked to perfection with the best gravy I have ever tasted. All of the staff were hard working, attentive and polite. But a special thanks to Nick and Ella who were especially helpful. We would definitely recommend Cromwells Tap House for a stay. We will definitely be back."

"Overall I would rate this stay excellent. The room and view was lovely. Super clean and appeared to be newly redecorated. My only complaint would be that the following morning our exit from the floor our room on was blocked. Both stairs and lift with no direction on how to get out. Had their been a fire goodness only knows if we’d have had time to find an alternative way out in time. "

"Stayed overnight and ate on Oak Restaurant. Food and wine choice excellent as was ambience. Our bedroom was fine but could do with a spruce up. Bed comfortable.Overall a great stay to celebrate my wifes birthday."

"The hotel is very tired and has been neglected during the last year. Our twin room was clean and everything was okay. They do not provide meals, just a continental breakfast at £6-50. Alright for one night at the price, but probably wouldn't stay again."
