Stayed here for 2 nights great location parking on site which is extra £5 per night paid to at the hotel which should really be included in price not an extra. Staff were friendly and helpful.Room was very tired and dated and hadn't seen a proper clean for years stains everywhere bodge jobs everywhere that have been done in the past which hadnt been finished, however bedding was fresh and clean and this was only a base to sleep for us but definitely not an £100 + a night hotel in desperate need of renovation because it's a lovely old building it's a shame.
We stayed for one night and were very pleased with our choice. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Ok, it is a little dated but on the other hand the building is full of history and character. Parking on site at a discounted price very much appreciated considering its town centre location. There is no breakfast or restaurant facility, but who would not want to venture the few yards outside the hotel where you are spoilt for choice for lovely wide ranging places to eat. Look forward to staying here again.

Very central, so great location. Lovely, old building, badly in need of renovation. That said, a cheaper option than most available when we were looking, so depending on your priorities you might feel it’s value for money. One of our rooms at the front of the hotel overlooked the road, which can be a bit noisy, if you are a light sleeper. The rooms were clean and had all the basics. Staff were all lovely and very helpful.

Really lovely stay and staff were great snd friendly.
The room, a junior suite was clean and tidy but we spent over an hour to get the TV working. We were advised that the maintenance man wasn't on duty so we finally figured it out for ourselves.
Next problem, couldn't access the WiFi on either the guest or staff log on.
No food available and no bar in the hotel so we would have been better off staying in a budget hotel.
The plus point, the historical interest.
I hope that this beautiful hotel can get some new investment from somewhere as it would be a shame if it was to close.
