The best time to visit Cape Tribulation is during the dry season, which runs from May to November.
During these months, you'll experience consistently warm, sunny days with lower humidity. This makes exploring the Daintree Rainforest and enjoying the beaches much more comfortable. The daytime temperatures typically range from 20 to 29 degrees Celsius, which is superb for outdoor activities like guided rainforest walks, snorkelling, or simply relaxing by the coast.
The dry season is also the best time for wildlife spotting. Many of the unique creatures of the Daintree, such as cassowaries and various bird species, are more active and visible. The calmer waters during this period are also ideal for reef trips, offering excellent visibility for snorkelling and diving on the Great Barrier Reef.
While the wet season (December to April) brings lush greenery and dramatic thunderstorms, it also means higher humidity, more rain, and the presence of marine stingers in the ocean, which restricts swimming to netted areas or stinger suits.
