The George in Rye
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely room, welcoming staff and high standard of cleanliness."
Ashford International Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Efficient check in. You have to register your car on the self service kiosks, which is simple enough. The room was larger than expected which made it very comfortable to settle in for the week. Lots of storage spaces as well. One downside in our room was the power plugs were too close to the table top, so we couldn’t plug one of our chargers in, and even the other charger only just fit. Other plugs in the room were too close to the floor. The bathroom was very clean and had good water pressure. Only downside was the toilet flush didn’t have a lot of force and took a number of flushes to get the job done. There’s a staircase between the hotel car park and Sainsbury’s next door which was much appreciated so you don’t have to walk along the dual carriageway. The Sainsbury’s car park also gives you access to a number of other shops and restaurants in walking distance (including a pedestrian bridge to the other side of the motorway)."
Holiday Inn Express Folkestone - Channel Tunnel by IHG
8/10 Good
"Pretty basic hotel on the whole but it's an ideal location if you're taking the Channel Tunnel. Besides location, breakfast is perhaps the best thing about it."
The Relais Cooden Beach
8/10 Good
"Lovely atmosphere great staff Ask for a quiet room at the back. Our room was at the front, such a shame we had very little sleep due to the traffic noise."
Grand Burstin Hotel Folkestone
8/10 Good
"Pros: The room was very clean and had all the bits and bobs you need ( hair dryer, fan, iron, tea making stuff, tv and a fridge). The hotel also provided a travel cot for our baby. The room had a great sea view. The hotel it self is interesting, a bit run down and rough round the edges. There was live entertainment in the “ballroom” every night, which was cringy in an amusing way. The location is excellent. The room price was very reasonable (mid week). It is a budget hotel not a luxury one. Negatives: the front desk is very understaffed, we wanted to extend our stay and had to queue at reception, only to then be told we had to book via a phone attached to the wall. When we used the phone we were quoted £10 more than hotels.com. We then had to queue for another 20mins to get new key cards. There was only 1 receptionist for a hotel with hundreds of rooms. The pool was pleasant enough but you have to pay £4 each every single time you use it (even as a paying guest at the hotel). I think that’s a bit cheeky and I’ve never experienced that in a hotel before. They could at least add a single charge to your room for a pool pass instead. We didn’t have breakfast as I thought it was a little over priced. Over all we enjoyed staying there and will definitely be returning."
Flackley Ash Country House Hotel
8/10 Good
"A lovely hotel, clean rooms, helpful staff, indoor heated pool excellent. Our only disappointment was the evening meals at the restaurant, I couldn’t eat some of mine, my partner’s meal was below expectations. I’d have scored this hotel 5 out of 5 if food had been better."
Hythe Imperial Hotel Spa & Golf
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely hotel by the beach. Very friendly staff. We were unexpectedly given a room upgrade which was lovely. The room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. We used the pool and Spa facilities which we really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend the hotel and we would certainly stay again 😊"
Dale Hill Hotel & Golf Club
10/10 Excellent
"Highly recommended, especially if you're using it as a central base to explore the High Weald hiking trails and local National Trust properties. The bedrooms are really a story of two parts here. The old wing feels quite dated with older, functional furniture, lacks air conditioning, and tends to get quite hot. The new wing is the exact opposite, much more modern and nicely cooled. Both areas are kept spotless! Just a heads-up if you need a firm bed: the mattresses are extremely soft and tend to dip in the middle. Breakfast covers all the standard items and is perfectly fine, but the highlight is the setting. The views from both the dining room and the bar terrace overlooking the golf course are beautiful, serene, and calming. We also had lunch and dinner at the restaurant. the menu is versatile, well-presented, and really tasty. The staff deserve a special mention, polite, warm, and genuinely doing their best to accommodate requests . The swimming pool is on the smaller side, but it also overlooks the golf course, stays clean, and was never crowded during our stay."
Eastwell Manor, Champneys Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"It’s been three months and seven days since u took the rain away I go out every night and sleep all day Since you took the rain away Since it’s been gone I can do whatever I want I can see whomever I choose I can eat my dinner in your fancy restaurant But nothing I said nothing can take away these blues 'Cause nothing compares, Nothing compares to your outdoor pool."
