This hotel was excellent. Had free snacks certain hours of the day along with a coffee machine with various options. The rooms were nicely decorated with coffee pot, ironing board, lots of extras. Very comfortable room.

Staffs were very helpful. They gave us very helpful hints as to which restaurants for certain food. Many restaurants around. Feel safe to walk around.

Too expensive for what you get.
First off, this is not a 4 star hotel which we saw somewhere posted online . If you want to compare it to a hotel in the U.S. it's not even comparable to a Comfort Inn, which is a 2-3 star hotel, which has nice updated rooms and a budget hotel. We had room 405 and carpet is old, stained, and thin. The furniture outdated, the shower doesn't even have a full glass door which means TONS of water escaping and pooling. Pretty dangerous especially if you are disabled or elderly. They DID let us check in twenty minutes early and "upgraded" us to a "superior" work LOL. I cannot imagine what our original room would have been but this room was not good. Our bed was two twin beds pushed together. It was so uncomfortable to share with my husband and we didn't make a big deal about it, but it was our honeymoon trip. They don't even have USB outlets, which is pretty standard for now a days. I could probably find more wrong with at least this specific room. No soap, just shampoo. Only ONE trash can, none in the bathroom. No coffee maker which is typical of Europe but also, no free coffee? All of the desk people were SO nice, especially the women. The breakfast buffet lady seems to have a hard time with her tone speaking English and comes off as really rude, we even saw her pick up someone's plate off a tray and demand to know if they paid LOL. She refused to let my husband sit down after he's gotten his plate before interrogating him. Oh and the hotel is SO HOT!!

The good and the bad
It was an OK stay. Starting with a few positives: the staff were incredibly lovely and approachable. The atmosphere of hotel was nice as well as the location. It is very central, and, close to the station that takes you to the airport. However, very VERY noisy - I think some kind of drain pipes went through our rooms and we could hear every flush of toilet and residents showering. We could hear the movement of water travelling through the pipes, quite unpleasant, especially when you are trying to sleep. Also, if you’re vegan/veggie/halal the breakfast buffet is extremely limiting in terms of hot food. There’s nothing - we only eat scrambled eggs, the (powdery) tortilla sometimes, rest was fruit, which was good. Too early to eat too many sweet pastries too. Lastly, air con is weak.

No internet for MacBook Pro
Check in took longer than needed. Very small elevator. No internet in room for our MacBook Pro, because a two-key security login was needed that just did not work on our laptop (but it did work on our smartphones). Hotel staff could not help (and said they had never experienced this before). Well, neither did we, and we have 8+ overnight stays worldwide in hotels, per year, and at literally every other hotel, internet connection for the MacBook Pro worked.... Otherwise, of course the location is great, Barcelona is fantastic! But don't listen to everyone, Valencia is even better, we think....

HCC Regente visit:- 01.10.19 to 03.10.19
As detailed in my summary, this was a very enjoyable visit (Tuesday, 2nd Oct to Thursday 4th Oct). The service at Reception was generally excellent and delivered with the utmost courtesy, although for whatever reason, our check-in was rather slow, maybe a computer 'glitch'. After check-out, we were also allowed to use the terrace bar facility, and to store our bags in the hotel pending departure for the airport - this was most appreciated. This may just be a personal opinion, but I did find the amount and content of the heavy jazz music played over the hotel sound system a little irritating and not conducive to relaxation whilst using the terrace bar. Otherwise, everything was fine, and I do expect to use the hotel again.

Great location but choose room carefully.
My experience was positive except for the room. The location is excellent, breakfast buffet excellent, very gracious and helpful staff, attractive public rooms and rooftop. I would stay again if I had a better room. The room was comfortable enough and had a large bathroom with large tub, which I like, but the window was not visible from the bed. The window, next to the bathroom, had a view only of a concrete wall a few feet away so the room felt closet-like and gloomy. There was also a step leading to the bathroom which could easily be missed.

I will stay here again next time
Although during night time you can hear some people clubbing on the street, the room is clean, tidy, and big. The location is really good, especially it really close to Casa Batllo and much other sightseeing location.

Nice if you get the right room
The first room we were offered was small and with a view of air conditioning unit covered walls - thankfully we were upgraded for free and the next room had a lovely balcony with great views over the city. The decor is a little dated but the roof terrace is great albeit with a tiny pool.

The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. I was late for my airport connection on the last day and the desk staff contacted the provider and rearranged the oick up. Above and beyond in my view - excellent!
