Noisy, ok for a budget and location
I stayed in room 115, it was an internal room with no natural light. The only window in the room opened onto an internal fire escape, and had bars on the window. The walls were thin, and you could hear waste running down the drains. I'd recommend taking earplugs if you intend to stay here. On a plus, the staff were friendly when I interacted with them, and the hotel is centrally located only a few minutes away from the metro

It was located in an area easy to walk to any kind of food, breakfast and lunches. Not a fancy place, but clean. Small rooms like most European rooms. Our room had a very small window, facing another building. It was very good for people that are not in the room only to sleep.

A little worn
Very small room with rather worn furnishings (see the photo) and a smell of smoke in hallways. One night I was woken at 2am by the room next door using the shower. It sounded like it was in my room. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Aircon was very useful.

Broken shower faucet in 314, told the staff and nothing was done. The tub fills over and does not drain when taking a shower, if i wanted a bath that would be great but not during shower. Good room and great staff close to gothic quarter, but overall facilities are below par.

The shower is smaller than the shower in my RV, which made it nearly impossible to use. The bathroom is so small I had to sit sideways on the toilet. Only 1 battery for the tv and a/c control so had to keep switching it back and forth. Breakfast is grossly overpriced, it just juice, coffee, and bread.

Hot water clean towels and sheets. However lack of maintenance of the bathroom. Mold in the shower. I went w a 5 months old baby w stroller and we were in the 6th floor wich had no elevator (only up to the 5th floor) so we had to go upstairs 1 floor carrying the stroller baby bag baby suitcases etc.

Decent and comfortable rooms with a fully functional en suite in private rooms(including a toilet unlike other "Hostals") Very comfortable bed considering the price point, what really let it down was the cleanliness- what looked like a fair amount of large blood spray dots on the back of the room door? A lot of dust on high level areas, a lot of hairs in the shower and curtain. Bathroom shower was very dated equipment and also the shower tray was cracked and damaged and requires replacement. Overall a decent place for the price and location with plenty of amenities close by

The hotel is on a good place, but not very clean, also not very dirty, but you can notice, that it's not well cleaned. The breakfast is pointless, coffee is bad and you basicly only get to make sandwiches - ok, to sleep for a couple of nights, but go to some cafeteria over the corner - cheaper and better breakfast.

Nothing about the hotel or staff was actually a problem for me. The biggest reason I would not stay here again was simply the location. It's a good location and it's near stuff. But it's directly above a line of tapas and my first night there people were up and screaming until 3am and I could not sleep. The cops were called at least twice on those people that night. The walls were too thin for it to be that close to where a lot of people go out to party and drink.

The hotel location is great but the facilities hotel and rooms have are poor. it is clise to Metro station in the heart of barcelona. rooms are too small

Could hear people being “active” in the other room midday. The hostel would have been sufficient if there was a decent WiFi connection (very weak), not so thin walls, and found a used razor around the drainage. While I understand that you pay a premium for single bedrooms in a hostel, I would have hoped the cost matched what you got. If you, like me payed around $50, I would suggest getting a hotel instead for maybe 50% more

Friendly staff
Very friendly front desk staff, very helpful too. Room was 'compact', but OK. Breakfast was basic but also fine. Wifi worked OK most of the time.

Nice Hotel
Some of the rooms facing the blai road, where the tapas bars were, was quite noisy specially late night. There was a breakfast buffet available at a very reasonable price, but sometimes food selection tends to decrease nearer the closing time. Otherwise our stay was quite nice.

Aside from confusion on check-in where initial claim was we had not booked for the family (had), room we received had musty mildewy odor. Not end of the world but not great. Staff however does try.

Room a little cramped
First impression of the room was that it was small and cramped, but was only using it as a place to get our head down of an evening. Breakfast typically continental and is €5 per person which wasn't too bad.

Old fashioned basic low budget hotel
The hotel was very nicely situated, with good connections, near important sites like the port and Mont Juic. The personnel was very friendly, after the first night, they even remembered me by name. The facilities very basic, the room was small but clean. The bathroom had a bathtub that was stuck, but it was clean. Perhaps the only problem was the fact that you could hear very well the neighbour's noises. During the night it was peaceful, but you cannot sleep long on the morning, if you are sensitive to noise. For a low budget hotel, it was nice.

Great for the Price!
The Hostel was just what we needed for a one night stay, there were 3 of us in a 4 single bed room and it was perfect for us! Was very spacious and the bathroom was big, the bathroom was more like a wet room but it was absolutely fine! TV too and you could set the air con to whatever you wanted. Was very good for the price we paid (around 65 euros for a Saturday night)

Totally worth the price
Rooms are tiny but contain exactly what you need after a day of sightseeing - good bed and private bathroom. The whole hotel was clean and nicely decorated with pictures of Barcelona and modern paintings. All staff was very professional, friendly and helpfull. We got a good use of the common room on the ground floor where we met with our traveling friends every night for a drink and chat about the plans for the next day. It's located very conveniently - walking distance to lots of tourist attractions and less than 5 minutes to the closest subway station. It was only 5 stops to Sagrada Familia without having to swtich to other subway lines. Totally worth the price.

Too expensive for what you get
Too expensive for what you get. Room smelled of old drainage, the batroom shower curtain was in mould, the former white towels was grey, the bath surface wasn't shaning white. However, good location. Just few minutes from la rambla street. Do not book a taxi from the hotel, it takes ages to find it for them, better to catch from the steet.

A great 2* hotel in centre of Barcelona
We had a week visiting friends in Barcelona for the first time. This hotel was nearby and was faultless for our needs. If like us, you like a VERY clean (spotless everywhere), friendly, no thrills, budget hotel, such as this is, then you can't go wrong. With 24 hour security / reception, free WiFi, breakfast 7:30 - 10:30 each day it was a very good choice indeed. During our wonders through Barcelona no better looking simular priced hostel could I find... and 12 noon check out was good also.

Awful. Don't do it.
Either I booked this hotel by mistake, or expedia screwed up.... because I know I had intended on staying at Hostal Bcn Port, Barcelona. The two are affiliated with eachother. This place was gross. It was too far from everything. Seemed to be in a somewhat sketchy area. Beds were super uncomfortable. The AC worked well though.

Good place for the price
Nice small place. It wasn't a fancy hotel which I didn't mind for the price I paid. breakfast station could use a little more variety. It wasn't too bad to pay the extra amount if you're by yourself. If you're going with the family, I would eat out side of the hotel in the morning.
