"Loved this place, location was great for hiking Arenal, going to the observatory, Butterfly conservancy, hot springs, and lake. Erica who helps with the house was very nice and helpful with any questions and check in. The home and view are even better than the pics."
"Family of 5 with 3 college age kids. This property was just as advertised. It is clean and simple but nice. Property has 2studio apartments and a rooftop terrace. No hammocks as in pics. The 3 kids took the downstairs floor with two beds and my husband and I took the second floor. No air conditioning but not needed with the ceiling fans and screened windows opened. Incredible views of the volcano and lake. The porches are great. No tv so we brought a couple of games and played theses in the evening. Not hard to get to but we arrived after dark and the roads were not the best to get there. There is a small market and a soda within walking distance. Very relaxing and beautiful stay. We would definitely stay again!"

"This property is absolutely beautiful and everything you see in the pictures. The views are incredible, the bird watching from the porch provides hours of enjoyment, and the accommodations are very comfortable. Our family enjoyed the pool and leaving all the sliding doors open to feel the cool breezes of El Castillo. Even though it is listed in the description, I did not realize the property didn't have air conditioning and was initially concerned, having just come from the coast where it was very warm. But El Castillo is much more temperate and the breezes keep everything very comfortable in the house. The need of a four wheel drive vehicle is absolutely necessary as the road leading up to the house is steep and very rocky. There are many wonderful restaurants close by. No service stations and only a small market, so plan accordingly. Close to the volcano, zip lining, and the La Fortuna waterfall. Would definitely recommend!"

"Property was fantastic, beautiful view and garden and pool. Place was well looked after and clean, hosts were great. Town was friendly with decent places to eat. Butterfly sanctuary is a must. Really enjoyed waking up everymorning to the sounds of birds and view of the volcano"
