Alicante’s industrial and maritime centre has been transformed into a stylish bar and restaurant precinct with commanding views over Postiguet Beach.

Located in the pristine Costa Blanca, Alicante Harbour is the gateway to the Spanish coast. Since most of the city’s maritime industry moved to Valencia in the 1980s, Alicante Harbour has been given room to redevelop into a tourist destination. Today, Alicante Harbour is a primary port of call for cruise ships, ferries and pleasure craft, bringing 80,000 visitors to the area each year. The harbour’s surrounding streets and main promenade buzzes throughout the day and night, with locals and visitors strolling between restaurants and bars.

Whether Alicante Harbour is a destination or a stopover during your trip, there’s plenty to see. La Explanada de España, a palm tree-lined esplanade paved with patterned marble mosaics, passes by many restaurants serving local Spanish cuisine.

Tours and charter boats can be booked through operators on the harbour. Explore the idyllic coastline on a catamaran or take a 1-hour ferry trip to Tabarca Island. This island features wilderness areas, a marine reserve and a tiny historic town completely free of cars.

Alicante Harbour is centrally located near wonderful beaches. The water immediately by the harbour is not advised as a swimming spot but a 10-minute stroll along the sandy beaches will bring you to picturesque, clear water and lots of space on the sand to relax in the sun.

Enjoy a refreshing drink along the promenade and watch the colours of the sky change over the Mediterranean Sea as the sun goes down. Patrons from nearby bars fill the streets with a lively atmosphere.

Alicante Harbour is the city’s main artery and many of the city’s busiest streets lead straight here. Come on foot or by car. There is plenty of free parking available in the area.
