"Wonderful New York Vacation"
Area around the hotel is very upscale with high end restaurants, shopping, and close to 5th Ave side of Central Park. Hotel is low key and understated however, a well-managed boutique product. We, my wife and 6 y/o daughter, arrived early around 6:30 am as we took the red eye flight from Oakland, CA. Guest services had us checked in on arrival. (I would highly recommend this hotel just on this special treatment alone). The room was big for New York standards. We had 2 full size beds. Our room was at the 10th floor facing away from the streets, so it was nice and quiet. Room and bathroom were very clean, just like the the hotels in Tokyo (Japanese standard of cleanliness). Hotels beds and bedding were some of the most comfortable and luxurious we're ever experienced. (We're stayed at other upscale hotels like the Hyatt Regency in Kauai, Maui, Fairmont Hotel and Mandarin Oriental in Vancouver, Loews in Atlanta, Shangri-La Manila, W Hotel Time Square New York, Relais St. Jacques in Paris, etc). Tea and coffee in the lobby at 6:00 to 8:30 am every day. Water bottles are provided in the morning, and in the rooms at night. (A nice touch) Maid service occurs twice a day. We had breakfast at Cafe Bolloud, a low point in terms of food taste but service was very good. There is a rooftop lounge/garden however our trip the last week of October proved to be too cold. Walking to Central Park is a must with the MET close by. Subway access is a short 3 blocks away.

"Plain and simple, not a finer hotel in New York."
I travelled to New York last week and had the great pleasure of staying at The Lowell for the first time. A dear friend recommended the Lowell and it exceeded my expectations. The Lowell could not have provided a lovelier, silkier stay for me. Absolute perfection. John, the concierge, was aware my stay coincided with my birthday and a bottle of champagne and a chocolate birthday cake were awaiting me in my room. I've no doubt, had I asked, a dozen staff would have been upstairs singing "Happy Birthday" to me, just because that's the perfect elegance of The Lowell. The hotel is absolute perfection; I cannot wait to return. And I had the great privilege of seeing the Pope to boot! His Holiness would have loved The Lowell. Kindest regards to everyone who made my stay an absolute joy.

"Very convenient location! "
It was nice staying here We stayed in the King suite. there is nothing over the top about it but it's a nice clean and quiet stay. it has some nice details that fellow hipsters and nature friendly people would appeal to but I still think they could do more due to the price. The bed in the window was awesome and very comfy! we also enjoyed the slippers and robes provided!

The hotel lobby is pretty cool, the location is great. The restaurant seems nice but I never went there. The overall room condition looked old, my door lock was broken from the day I checked in. However the house keeping did a nice job on cleaning the room, e room is comfortable. My only complain is their staff, looked like they have nothing better to do but chitchat and one of their staff entered my room without my permission as he apologized later as he did not know I was in the room. Seriously?

"Stylish hotel in a great location"
I chose this hotel for it's proximity to Central Park. This was my first trip to NYC and did not want to be in the middle of Times Square. I was not expecting the location to be as convenient as it turned out- most things we wanted to see/do were in walking distance. The hotel is stylish and has fairly unique design features- one of the factors that influenced my choice. Rooms were small and storage space is extremely limited- you will see this in many reviews for this hotel. But we had just about enough room for our luggage for a 5 day trip. The biggest negative for this hotel is the lack of free wi-fi- this is really valuable to an overseas visitor. I would expect this from a 5 star hotel, especially in the USA where free wi-fi is everywhere (there is a Starbucks with free wi-fi a few metres away).
