I loved my stay in NYC, took 2 years to get there! I will start with my one negative on the hotel. I booked a Premier Corner room, cost alot more than a standard room. It was nice, but was nothing like the pictures, I could only get a 'view' if I scrapped my face along the window. My 'view' was the room opposite! I got about 5 emails before I went offering an upgrade for more money. I was confused as I thought I had the upgraded room! BUT... apart from that, and to be fair we were so happy to be there, we got used to it! Excellent location, Subway right next door, 5 mins up to Central Park and Columbus Circle, 10 mins down to Times Square. The small Deli at the end of the street was amazing, so much cheaper than the bigger diners (who were also nice, Carnagie 2 blocks north and Astro, one block east) it has dinning upstairs and you get pancakes, Eggs and toast , Tea etc for $25 .. definitely would stay at Park Central again, but ALWAYS ask for a outside, street facing room, on a higher floor (less noise) or you will be looking straight into someone's room as the hotel has a 'H' shape to it. We had stayed here 3 times before, but that and paying for a 'superior' room still didn't get us a view! Hotel staff are lovely, ask the doorman for a town car back to the airport, approx $70 to JFK (tolls inc) , much more comfortable than a taxi, our driver knew how to cut all the traffic.. was great! Also there is a Starbucks next door, perfect for a morning Cuppa.
