"Lovely hotel in the centre of Edinburgh"
Great city centre location just a step outside and your near the Royal Mile for tourist attractions such as Edinburgh Castle, Whisky Tour, Camera Obscura. Friendly staff. Ideal place for anyone thats staying for a weekend or longer with lots of different restaurants to try out on the Royal Mile or Cockburn Street, with the added option of a quick walk to main shopping street (princes street) for good high street stores.

"Convenient Hotel close to the city centre"
We were well looked after by staff. We arrived at 7.30am in Edinburgh and they kindly allowed us to check-in as soon as we arrived. Breakfast was added on day of check-in as an extra (a bit pricey £10 each) but it was filling and rich. several stairs to the room - no lift Ensuite room was clean and spacious no TV in rooms but lounge on first floor was a good alternative hotel is 1-2mins walk to the playhouse and 15-20mins walk to the castle. Pleasant neighbourhood.

"The owner cares"
This is not a fancy place but it is meticulous and the owner cares a lot about maintaining his hotel. Beds were comfortable. A sink in the room. Excellent and very generous breakfast. Great and safe location beside Calton Hill.

"Simple, clean and comfortable."
My adult daughter and I decided to extend our stay in Edunburgh and booked the Twin Lions on a late booking as our original hotel was full. We had a designated parking space, 24hr access and a very clean room. Although the facilities were fairly basic, having an actual key rather than a card for our door was fun and we had lots and lots of pillows. The beds were comfy and the room temperature controllable. A cooked breakfast was included in the price and this was the only thing I felt the hotel fell short on. The breakfast was small and the sausages weren't great quality. A strong coffee would have been appreciated too. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, giving the place a family business feel.

"Very cosy"
Stayed overnight. Chose for proximity to Pollock Halls. Also a reasonable walk from the city center. Car parking space at the rear of the premises accessed via side road. Very pleasant hosts. Excellent breakfast. A bit unusual in that the accommodation also serves as a museum. Felt the need to be extra careful that we didnt cause damage. However, that was in no way transmitted by our hosts.

"Very hand for airport"
The only reason I have not given this hotel five stars is that it is very much a budget hotel. The facilities however are adequate and the room was very clean. The most mportant plus for me was the fact that the hotel was extremely quiet. Having had to suffer staff shouting and crashes no around at 3 am in the Holiday Inn Edinburgh the absolute silence during the night at the IBIS was most welcome before an early flight. Will definitely use again

"Cheap warm and dry"
Basic, but warm, dry and comfortable bed. Good place to sleep after a good night with friends. Not a place to spend a rainy afternoon. Great value, excellent for what it is.

"Short stay only"
Room was very small. All floorboards creaked even the ones over our heads. They are trying hard but have plenty to do.
