"Simple, clean and comfortable."
My adult daughter and I decided to extend our stay in Edunburgh and booked the Twin Lions on a late booking as our original hotel was full. We had a designated parking space, 24hr access and a very clean room. Although the facilities were fairly basic, having an actual key rather than a card for our door was fun and we had lots and lots of pillows. The beds were comfy and the room temperature controllable. A cooked breakfast was included in the price and this was the only thing I felt the hotel fell short on. The breakfast was small and the sausages weren't great quality. A strong coffee would have been appreciated too. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, giving the place a family business feel.

"Very cosy"
Stayed overnight. Chose for proximity to Pollock Halls. Also a reasonable walk from the city center. Car parking space at the rear of the premises accessed via side road. Very pleasant hosts. Excellent breakfast. A bit unusual in that the accommodation also serves as a museum. Felt the need to be extra careful that we didnt cause damage. However, that was in no way transmitted by our hosts.

"Perfect hotel in Old Town Edinburgh"
ibis Royal Mile was perfect for our first night in Edinburgh. The staff was super nice, and they accommodated us for an early check-in since our room was ready. The hotel room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was nice and clean. The location is perfect. ibis is located down the street from so much character and gorgeous site-seeing, tourist attractions, Starbucks, local restaurants and pubs, and plenty of shopping. There is a lot of nightlife around this area, so don't be surprised if there is noise on the street around 2am.

"Budget hotel "
We all want that perfect budget hotel-- clean, centrally located, strong wifi, great breakfast -- all for a bargain price! And I have yet to find such a place in any city. Generally you have to give up something to get the low price you're seeking-- so in reading the reviews, I saw there was some mildew in the shower caulk. I looked at the next priced up hotel and it was significantly more expensive. This hotel was near the venue of a concert I attended, and reasonably centrally located. In the end, I chose this hotel having read the reviews. It was as expected and just fine. My room was in the basement and could be updated/cleaner-- but again- you won't get this room at this price when it is, so it was fine. The linens were clean-- and the staff was friendly. The room was adequate and I am happy with my choice. If a little mildew will ruin your trip to Edinburgh-- spend a little more and stay somewhere else. If you're looking for a decent place at the right place, this might be the place for you!

"The owner cares"
This is not a fancy place but it is meticulous and the owner cares a lot about maintaining his hotel. Beds were comfortable. A sink in the room. Excellent and very generous breakfast. Great and safe location beside Calton Hill.
