"Average accommodation but outstanding location"
The property had exactly what I wanted...proximity to beautiful Akumal Bay. We ended up in a 1 BR condo with a balcony on the bay. Fantastic view. We originally booked a pool view room, but requested the upgrade upon arrival. Noel(sp?) was very welcoming and after some cajoling he was able to find us a Sea View room for the night.

"Fantastic views!"
My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel staff was very friendly and easy to get along with. Rooms and food were average, but we could take the car and drive for 10 minutes and find other places to eat. I would stay here again.

"LOVE LOVE LOVE"
This hotel is amazing. Lets begin with the food... you will NOT be dissapointed. You have to book the restaurants prior to 5pm to be able to eat there. The restaurants are so classy and the presentation of the food was just expectacular. Even the buffet was good. If you want real authentic mexican food, this is the place. When we got there, we were upgraded from a standard room to ocean view (without even asking for it). The staff is extremely polite and make you feel so welcome. Ivan (he is always around the bar area) was so amazing. Every night we would go sit by the bar and by the time we finished our drink, he already had another drink prepared for us. The front desk consierge was always super helpful when we asked where we should go eat. This is the perfect place to go if you want to relax. I found the the crowd was a little older (in their 30s). I went with my best friends and we are both 24 . We are not the "crazy party people" but we like to have fun and dance. Luckly, we had our little loud radio to play our own music. The hotel also has night time perfomances which WE LOVED. I will not give it away, but not alot of hotels have night time perfomances. ALSO, although this is not really a big deal, I want to let you know this hotel is an 1.5 HOURS from the airport. This was a surprise to me....

"A place to escape"
If you are looking for a boutique hotel that is very close to Tulum, yet away from the beautiful hipsters of the main beaches of Tulum, this place is perfect. The hotel is small, probably about 8 rooms, but the views and comfort of the rooms are big. Loved finding a place which included continental breakfast (fresh fruit and toast) and a good strong cup of java, making the mornings more relaxed. (And for you who assume eating fresh fruit = montezama's revenge - put your fears aside as we never got sick, enjoyed fruits for 6 mornings in a row. The pineapple and mango were my favorites.) Blue Sky offers a full menu (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and bar. Their wood-fired pizzas are thin crust and made with fresh ingredients. Grab a mojito and head out to the dock or your veranda to enjoy the glow of sunsets and cooling breezes. (That picture on Blue Sky's main page of a thatched hut at the end of a dock, with the brillant blue waters and waves is NOT photoshopped, I promise!)

"Nice, on the beach with pools. "
Iguanas on grounds are fun to feed. Staff are very friendly. Wine is good. Food is good. Water right in front is no good but if you walk 50yards in either direction, it's fine. Everything else is just like Mexico. Hard beds, random sewage smells, electricity arching in various places. If you've been here, you know the deal and will also laugh about it.

"Huge compound; lots to do. Friendly staff"
After driving an hour 1/2 in the rain to get to the hotel, we were greeted at the lobby only to be told we needed to go to the other side reception bec we booked thru Expedia 😒. Check in was a bit chaotic and disorganized. We were then told about all the extra fees to be automatically charged if we ever, even accidentally, use the wifi service, and if we do not return all the room and towel cards originally issued to us. Okay, fine. Then we were taken to our room. First impression: it'd work! Its ground floor-ideal when you have a little one. Inside its roomy and seemed clean but lots of not so obvious filth! One of them, we used the ice bucket to get some ice, the next morning when the ice melted, all kinds of dirt or sorts of sediments collected at the bottom! Gross! Drawers were dirty as well, we opted to leave our clothes in suitcases. Our unit is also next to the utility room and stairs, VERY NOISY! Beds can use some updating, sunken in the middle and hard! Fan in the bathroom never worked the entire time we were there despite repeated request for service, so we just gave up. On the positive, the units are roomy, plenty of room for my little one to move and even ran around. After a day or so the cleanliness of the room improved and towels were well supplied. Staff try their best and were all very friendly; I'd rate them 5 except the ck in reception. Pools were clean, Food & drinks were so so, surrounding area is great, lots of walking.

"Great hotel with lots of activities "
This hotel has great accommodations and activities. The only complaint that I have is that it could be more accommodations for wet days like wet mats, etc. to avoid falls.
