We Loved the quiet atmosphere within the Oasis Tulum Hotel. Everyone was courteous. The buffet was wonderful (large selection) fresh fruit. The servers were great, someone was always there to provide you drinks. The rooms were clean (great air conditioning) and the cleaning staff was very professional. Our room was a standard room garden view. The beach was beautiful, better than some of the other hotels (did not have sand bag wave stops) perfect for snorkeling (lots of fish). You could take long walks in either direction along the beach. The hotel is close to the Tulum ruins, Coba, Akumal and The Playa del Carmen - you could take a bike from the hotel to the main road and catch a local bus. We will be back and would recommend this hotel to all.
We love this resort it was our 5th visit to the Grand Oasis. The staff are all accommodating and friendly. Very clean, outdoor areas are kept spotless. Beach is wonderful. Buffet could be better but other restaurants are all good. We are already planning our next visit.
Great place to stay if you want easy, clean LARGE unit. Stocked kitchen makes it easy to save and cook meals. Large deck with table and hammocks overlooking the ocean and stairs to the beach isn't too shabby. 2 pools (1 adult and 1 kid) are very nice and there's a quiet, secluded beach right in front of you. Sea turtles nesting all over the beach. Great snorkeling in front of hotel and about a 15 min walk down the beach. Definitely a place to go if you want the "opposite of Cancun" experience.

My son & I just returned from 4 days at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya.
Although this is a very large resort complex, getting from one location to another is not that intimidating, especially if you take the short cuts.
The best advice I can give is to get to know your concierges. Unlike other resorts, they have 2 concierges at a station that serves every 2 buildings. They are there to maximize your experience, and they can save you a lot of time, and provide you with a more personal level of service that overcomes the shear size of a large resort.

This resort does not come with an outstanding beach. But there are not a lot of excellent beaches along the Riviera Maya. If an amazing beach is what you are looking for then you may be better off picking a resort in the Dom Rep, like Punta Cana.
The drinks at this resort were not as good as the ones we've had elsewhere. If you asked for a better tequila for your drink then the bar tender would pull out a bottle with a better label (but still not top shelf), yet even then the drinks were not excellent. Sadly, sometimes the drinks were just plain bad. But that is not what we came for. This place is spectacular, the service very good, the food in the restaurants and the buffet were much better than average for a resort of this size. The pools beautiful, the entertainment very good.
We had a rental car and used the resort as home base for tours of the local ruins, the cenotes, Playa del Carmen, the theme parks (excellent quality by the way). It was a very elegant and inspiring place to return to after a day's activities elsewhere.
