"We stayed at COBA and it is outdated, Akumal, Tulum and Adults Only tequila looked much better and updated. Best advice I could give you is upgrade at the property so you can at least use all of the restaurants at Akumal Luxury"

"Everything super clean. Kids club should make an effort to keep the kids busy and parents free, there are several rules and they call you whenever something is off with the kids, we couldn't enjoy a (well paid) spa moment because we had our phone buzzing. In general the staff is kind, but they approach their rules without context making things more complicated/frustrating than they supposed to be. The app is a disaster."

"Villas de Rosa is a hidden gem. The location is right on a beautiful quiet beach with great snorkeling right in front. The rooms are very spacious with everything you need. The beach bar has great food and amazing staff that make you feel comfortable. We will be back regularly! "

"We travel to Mexico about once a year and have stayed in several different locations and properties. Staff here were some of the friendliest we’ve met anywhere. Check in and Check out were both quick and easy. We had a swim up room which was fabulous. Our building didn’t back onto a path so it was fairly private. Would have been a nice touch if wait staff came around to those rooms to take drink orders. Beds were hard for our taste but we asked for mattress toppers which were provided quickly and made a huge difference. Food at the buffet was good. Not great. But nobody would go hungry. Lots to choose from. I forgot about making reservations at the restaurants until a couple days before our trip and unfortunately they were booked up by then. Room service menu is simple but quick, and free. A nice option if you’re not up to going out for dinner. Resort is huge so it never felt crowded even when it was busy. We did have trouble a finding pool chair on the weekend but no issues during the week. There is a trolley system to move people around the resort and to the other properties. But lots of pathways so it was easily walkable too. Advertised as a 5 star resort. It might have been at one point but I think it’s closer to a 4."

"Always easy to point out the negatives, but they are limited. Often out of pool towels, the ultra all inclusive has some odd exclusions. Just charge a bit more and include everything. Could use pool or beach attendants to avoid people reserving chairs. Cheapens the experience. Invest in big ice cubes for evening cocktails That said, the staff are great. Resort is beautiful. Great location. Food and drink are great. A mix of fun and high end cocktails. Cater very well to allergies. Peaceful, elegant, clean and quiet. Definitely go to this resort as one of the best (if not the best) in Tulum or Mayan Riviera."

"Could be really nice, but unit (was in unit A1) needs some TLC and more consideration needs to be given making the unit more "user friendly" TLC/maintenance issues: 1) bedside lamp didn't work (suspect burned out bulb, but not sure). 2) Safe did not work (suspect dead battery); 3) Front door broken-out at dead bolt, so was concerned about safety (door could easily be forced open); 4) BBQ area on lower deck was not useable; 5) sink on upper deck not hooked-up and bottom of sink was gross, with what looked to be cigarette butts in the bottom User Friendly suggestions: 1) Were no sharp knives provided...pretty difficult to cut bread or to cutup a pineapple with a butter knife; 2) kitchen really needs a microwave for heating water and warming up leftovers; 3) there were salt & pepper shakers, but they were not useable because the bottom plugs were missing; 4) need instruction sheet for how to use TV, cook top and oven.....unable to get TV's working (often got "no signal" message). there were 2 remotes, but no way of knowing what each did. Also, one remote was for Netflix/Apple TV/Roku/Prime/YouTube, but had no idea if any of these were included with the TV service; 5) had to use Google and You Tube to figure out how to use the cooktop and oven (a basic instruction sheet would be helpful); Other apartment units I've stayed nearby supplied very basic inexpensive items to make stay easier, like..salt & pepper, a little cooking oil, paper towels, kitchen towel, oven mitts "
