I loved the Hotel Diplomat. I splurged on a room overlooking the water and didn't regret it for a moment. I stayed in Stockholm to celebrate a family member's birthday and many of us stayed at Hotel Diplomat. The location was terrific-close to museums, good restaurants, waterfront cafes. The service was excellent and high tea and morning buffet breakfasts were terrific. Pricey but delicous. Highly recommend this hotel. And book the complimentary daily opportunity to take a hot tub and sauna in the hotel spa-private use by appointment. It was nice, especially the morning you arrive if your hotel room isn't ready. My room was ready however at 10:30 am which was incredibly nice of the hotel.
Room was small but comfortable. Hotel was walking distance to great restaurants, metro, and the public bus. The hotel was clean. The hotel staff was great, especially Johan. He made great suggestions on places to enjoy Swedish cuisine. Would definitely stay there again.
This hotel is located centrally, only 2 mins walking from the waterfront so it's really convenient if you want to explore the city on foot. Our standard room was interestingly decorated (the bathroom was beautiful) and quite big compared to what we expected. The beds itself were super comfy but not fixed together as one queen and could easily move what was annoying. We appreciated the complimentary water in the minibar which was refilled every day. The breakfast was basic and lacked warm buffet - no scrambled eggs, etc. However, definitely book a table for dinner - the restaurant is pricey but delicious! Overall, we really liked the modern decor of the whole hotel, the bar, speaking lift, unusual reception and super friendly staff.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The whole place had a nice atmosphere. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated. The breakfast was great (although got quite busy around 9am so it is a good idea to go a bit earlier!). We'd definitely stay there again.
"Excellent Location, Very Helpful & Friendly Staff"
All staff were incredibly helpful and very welcoming and friendly throughout my stay. The hotel was very clean in general, including my room, which was also very comfortable. The hotel is very well-located, the Old Town is within easy walking distance, and it is easy to get to most places from the hotel. There was a very generous breakfast buffet available every morning.
The hotel is essentially a 3-star hotel but make no mistake about it. It is in a superb neighborhood and is very cozy. It provides excellent breakfast which is included in the room rate. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The room rate fantastic for an expensive city such as Stockholm. Highly recommended...
The location is close to some of the main attractions in Stockholm. We walked everywhere but the nearest Underground station was only 2 or 3 minutes walk away, buses and trams were close by and different boat tours and trips were only 5 minutes walk away.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. We were given a free upgrade to a larger room when we asked for a room not on ground level (there was work going on to replace the road surface outside the Hotel and we were given a room at the back of the Hotel, where it was lovely and quiet, no questions asked). The buffet breakfast was fantastic, lots of variety and we ate so much we only needed a snack by late afternoon! There is a large variety of restaurants from the corner of the street and all around the area.
There was free tea and coffee and cakes and biscuits in the bar all day.
For a single traveller who is only looking for a clean room and bathroom my single room met all my expectations and even more! The single room was also spacious in comparison to other single rooms I have stayed in before. Coming from a country with a very bad exchange rate and Stockholm being an expesive city the hotel was very well priced. I attended a congress in the Stockholmsmassan which is located outside the city, it was very easy to commute from Karlapan or Stadion on two different Red Metro Lines to Central station and then ont the light rail to Alvsjo station at the massan.

We stayed for 4 nights in August. On weekends, young people gathered around cafes and restaurants for drinking until well past midnight. Our room is on the 4th floor, and when we opened the window for air, the noise was so loud, and so we immediately closed it. However, overall, we really enjoyed our stay
