The room is a bit too small for 4 person. The renovation workmanship is poor and the design and decoration need to be improved to increase the aesthetic value of the room even though the room rate is reasonable.
I stayed here recently for 4 nights with my husband and 2 teenage sons. I would't recommend it as a first choice family hotel because my boys weren't as impressed as me. However I absolutely loved this place. If you are in Malacca for it's rich history then staying at the Majestic will add so much to your experience. Boutique size, all aspects of its presentation, facilities, service made me feel special. From the welcome jasmine tea, soaking in the claw foot bath and going on the complimentary historical tour, all experiences I will treasure for ever. As my husband says though I am definitely a romantic!

Arrived early afternoon and room was already available for us.
Received complimentary breakfast for the eight nights stay.
We were travelling with our own car and parking was no problem.
Location of hotel is very convenient and at walking distance from shops and restaurants.
If you need transport, taxis are cheap and hotel is only couple of minutes from city centre.
Were given a large room with view of the ocean. Room was very clean and beds were very comfortable.
Staff very friendly and courteous.
we booked three junior suites for a sunday night stay recently. the hotel is magnificient overall. we were allocated the rooms facing the sea. the staffs are young but very friendly. we love the design of the room. to top it all, we were suprised that on a monday morning the buffet breakfast was extensive. many choices of fresh local and western food to pick from. the location of the hotel is perfect for walking distances to major tourist spots.
i hope the management will improve the tv channels....it hurt to watch world football in the room. the tv is not sharp and blur. will surely come back again.
Is a hotel worth booking to enhance your get away trip... However only one down point is that there is not many free tv program channels to watch especially if you want mandarin channel is like none....

I have, on previous occasions, stayed at the Renaissance (now Ramada) and the service is no comparison. I spoke with the new manager and he is trying to teach new techniques to old staff, but is obviously is falling on deaf ears. The reception staff were not very welcoming and the concierge does not start until midday and the reception staff have no idea about things that tourists need to do. They didn't even know that there was a bus direct to KL airport, so I went back across the road to the Ramada and got the information immediately and when I was leaving early morning there was no one at the door and no one asked if I need a taxi - I didn't because in the meantime I had learn about the local buses - much cheaper than the taxis. The hotel is really very nice but I would opt for the Ramada in future.
