The price was modest, which was reflected in the mediocre nature of the room accommodations. Things like lamp brightness, a soft tub bottom which made a simple task like standing uncomfortable. I guess you get what you pay for.

"Not for kids; great for adults"
We had a terrific deal on this hotel between a 30% discount and an Expedia $50 coupon and decided to spend the night there with the kids as a pit stop on a road trip. I probably should have read the complete description first to discover they "only cater to adults." We have a 1 year old and needed a baby bed of some sort which is usually available at the nicer hotels. No such luck. Oh well. My fault. I'd love to stay here with just the wife at some point though!

"toilet over flowed"
We had a problem with our room. The toilet over flowed early the first morning and was not cleaned up after 4 hours we were very upset. The maintenance man came and unstopped the toilet but soiled water was all over the floor. We left for about 3 hours thinking they would clean it up and when we came back the water was still on the floor, we called down stairs and still no one came within the hour, Mr. Harris had to go down to the desk and ask that we get another room than we were moved to another room. I really liked the Hotel but the inconvenience was horrible.

"Clean, spacious, friendly, quiet"
Pleasantly surprised by large room size and amenities for what we paid. Beautiful bathroom, deep tub and rain shower. I would stay here every time Im in the area. Nice bedding too. Overall great experience. Cons: Had to pay 21.00 to park but that's to be expected in downtown city hotels. Fire alarm from something burning in kitchen got us up with a LOUD start. Down 6 flights of stairs at 5:30 am in pajamas wasn't all that fun.

"Nice hotel in trendy location"
Overall, the hotel was fine, but I expected more from a 4.5 star rating. The hotel is old, which adds to the charm, but the room was quite small and had no nice extras, such as a refrigerator. The hotel information page in our room indicated daily newspaper would be delivered to our room each morning. The newspaper was never delivered to our room, we had to pick it up near the elevator and the last two days of our stay, they actually ran out of newspapers and we did not get one at all. Upon check-in, we discovered that the in-room safe was not functioning. Reported to front desk and they sent security who told us that the safe needed a new battery and that we would have to call engineering to request the service, but we would "have to hurry with submitting our request because the engineering staff would soon be leaving for the day". Wow...really!? My expectation is that we would report the issue and the hotel staff would ensure it was resolved, period.

"Nice hotel, but..."
My friend and I arrived in our room and it was very nice, as was the rest of the hotel. When I went into the bathroom, however, there was a very dirty, dried out washcloth hanging over the shower that the maid had missed. On my way out to dinner I politely told the woman at the front desk about the towel and asked if somebody could remove it while we were gone. The woman was pretty unconcerned and looked at my like I was a nuisance, but apologized. The towel was never removed from my room and that was disappointing, because the rest of the stay was comfortable. The staff was helpful when we asked about restaurants in the area and very polite with anything else we needed.
