"Good Hotel for the price"
The hotel is quite a bit cheaper than any others in the immediate area. Guests should know that some rooms do not have their own bathroom but you share a hall bathroom with other guests. Be sure you know what to expect with your room. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Wifi is fast enough and included in the room price. There is good coffee and a snack every morning for breakfast, also included in the room price. The rooms have no A/C, only ceiling fans. San Francisco weather means that raising the windows will make the room comfortable but, when you do that you get all the street noise--garbage trucks at about 5:30 am, etc. Overall, a good value for the price but guests should know to expect small rooms and no A/C.

Grant Hotel - San Francisco Hotels

Grant Hotel

753 Bush St, San Francisco - Map
"Adequate and comfortable for the price."
Grant Hotel is decent value for price. It is a basic hotel that provides an adequate accommodations. We spent little time in the room as we were sightseeing San Francisco and wanted a clean, safe place to sleep. The location is well placed to the Union Square area. Restaurants, neighbourhood groceries, and transit such as the Powell cable car are close-by. The staff were quite helpful in everything that we asked for. Check in was also fast as we arrived a bit early and were able to placed in our room at 11am even though the check in time was at 3pm. The hotel also held our luggage as we had to have it stored as we had a late night flight. A nice bonus is the continental breakfast provided. I would stay at the Grant again.

Adrian Hotel

"Rough around the edges, but great value for money"
First impressions can be misleading with this hotel. Its not in a good area, and the reception is still under construction, making it look. However, the staff were friendly, the room was really comfortable and absolutely spotless. There is also 24 hour security, so I felt perfectly safe the whole time I was here. Although the surrounding area is a little off-putting, the hotel is only a few blocks from a whole host of transport options (including BART), making it a good central spot to stay in. The bus from outside City Hall will have you in Fishermans Wharf in around 15 mins, Union Square is walking distance, and in general, you're only a short cab ride away from most major attractions and nightlife. There's also a whole host of nearby bars and restaurants near Gough St, also a short walking distance In summary, this is great value for money in an otherwise expensive city for accommodation.

"Quaint hotel in downtown SF"
The Opal is a quaint hotel on Van Ness ave, close to bus stops, but a bit of a walk from the nearest BART station. I enjoyed the stay, and will visit here again if I get the chance.

Coventry Motor Inn - San Francisco Hotels

Coventry Motor Inn

1901 Lombard Street, San Francisco - Map
"a nice place and close enough to everything"
The hotel was on Lombard street. A little misleading. Yes Lombard Street but you have to climb a massive hill, 5 blocks long and then descend thru the really crooked part ( that was fun) to get close to Fisherman's Wharf . We found other , less steep routes, to get around. 20 minute walks to the places we were interested in.

Yale Hotel

It was a clean room to stay in. The neighborhood wasn't the greatest. It was fine for the rating of this hotel. Price was perfect for last minute stay in the city.

Wonderful hotel with bay windows: clean, spacious, lovely, with character and everything you need! Ask for room NOT facing Lombard street as 24/7 traffic will not let you sleep! (Location is fantastic though!) Loved this gem!
