Peak Season:
San Francisco's peak season lands in June to September, and November. June through August can be both hot and humid, but this peculiar climate begins to dissipate in September, and by November, the city is a beautiful place to reside.
Despite occasional uncomfortable weather, tourists still gather in this destination in order to take part in the many events, like the LGBT parade in June, the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival in August, and the Festival of Lights in November.
Shoulder Season:
May and October are a mixed bag in terms of climate. Many tourists avoid the city during these times, making inexpensive flights to San Francisco easier to find. If you do not mind the erratic weather, this is an excellent time to play on Fisherman's Wharf, tour Alcatraz, or have dinner and a movie at the Foreign Cinema restaurant.

Distance: 21km south to downtown
Samtrans buses are the most economical method of ground transport, but can take up to an hour to arrive in the city. Taxis are quicker, but can be very expensive. One option that is both quick and inexpensive is the BART Rapid Rail, which only takes around 30 minutes to arrive.
