"Casa Tortuga is right on the beach. Lovely pool. Large rooms. Fantastic friendly service from Samuel and Marisela. Samuel is such a good cook that we ate almost all of our meals at the Casa.The only issue that kept this from being a perfect vacation was the sargassum. The smell the first few days was very strong. A major effort to remove the older sargassum eased the odor and allowed access to Soliman Bay for some great snorkeling. Cheryl was responsive and even arranged for us to use the beach at a Casa where the sargassum was less prevalent."

"I would not come back to this resort. Food: - buffet has repeat food and nothing was really good. All dishes are just so so. The taste is plain ….half of the buffet are steamed, fried or grilled vegetables. The juice seemed like it was mixed with water. The fruit quality is bad most of the time, and there are not a lot of options. - Drink: you can feel they are using cheap ingredients - restaurants: french restaurant closes every other day. Italian restaurant showed it was opened on Thursday but when we came, they said it was closed. Seaside grill restaurant closes on weekends and Monday. Only Asian restaurants opens whole week but sushi restaurant doesn’t have a lot of seat, and one of asian restaurants charges extra $20. Rooms: old but clean however, resort was having construction next to my friend room in the middle of the week but did not inform them in advance. The sound was loud and from 9-5, when my friend asked they said there were no room to change and ask if my friend would like to change hotel. The resort kept sending us VIP package but honestly it sounds like scam."

"Fantastic experience for my family at Villa Vidorra!! The Villa was perfect! The location was beautiful. Soliman bay is great for kayaking and snorkelling. So much to experience nearby. Barbara (owner) was always easy to reach and helped us coordinate several excursions. The staff at the house were the absolute best one could hope for. Chef Manuel and his assistant Angel prepared incredible food from classic Mexican dishes to snacks and amazing steak and lobster. We were blown away! Bartender Luis was ever present, always quick with a story and a smile. He is a treasure! Vicky and Mariana kept the Villa beautifully clean and welcoming. Julio had the grounds and beach perfect for us every day! Absolutely worth every penny for the tremendous vacation we enjoyed. Villa Vidorra for the win!!!"

"We stayed 6 nights at this adorable home, and really enjoyed it. The house was clean and comfortable, with its own charming beachside palapa. Snorkeling is big for me, and Soliman Bay did not disappoint - healthy reefs with lots of fish just a short swim away (you can also take the kayaks out to the reef and tie up on buoy). There are two restaurants just a short 5-10 min walk from the house, and both were great with friendly staff and delicious food (pricey but on par with beach restaurants in tourist areas). We did not even rent a car, since we had everything we needed just a short walk or swim away (host arranged transport that let us stop at grocery store on way to the house). Seaweed was not bad at all while we were there - the staff cleared the beach every morning, and the house is located central on the bay (south end of the bay got it much worse). Soliman Bay is a private community of villas with one road in and security, so this is definitely more peaceful and safe than many other areas. However, events do happen at villas here so don’t expect total silence. A few communication hiccups with the host upon arrival, but they were graciously resolved and we would strongly recommend the company, the house, and the area for other travelers looking for a more peaceful experience in a beautiful place with easy snorkeling right out the door. It was hard to leave, and we hope to visit this beautiful area again soon. "
