"A very appealing hotel.Tastefully traditional. Gardens beautifully laid out;so many private areas to relax in. Range of apartments in modern style too. I had enjoyable stay in Junior Suite. Dining room really attractive with very pleasing views . Always a great relief in Bowness to have a place with great parking!!. MINUS-The cupboard with the clothes rail is no substitute for a proper wardrobe as it is cold and musty."

"Quaint, pleasant place. Friendly and helpful staff. Other reviews said it would be loud but that was not our experience, and we were there during a bank holiday weekend. Pub garden is very nice."

"We loved everything about The Belsfield Hotel. We stayed there a few years ago and it was beautiful, but since it has new owners, the staff are happier, the hotel is continually being updated restoring it to it's former glory. Our room was perfect, the breakfast was incredible and the staff couldn't have been nicer with us. We will be returning again later in the year, before we get married there. It's a gorgeous, stunning hotel."

The room facilities were excellent.We couldn't have asked for more as every requirement was met. Our breakfasts, cooked to order, were delicious. A most enjoyable four night break."

"The location was the reason for choosing this property. It’s a 15 minute walk to where we hired a motorboat. There are only 3 car park spaces at the hotel itself for guests. If they’re full, you have to park across the road by the glass bus stop. I managed to park at the hotel, but someone blocked me in. Luckily, I’m nimble and could manoeuvre to leave the hotel. The breakfast options were good, with lots to choose from. I ordered a full English, which is my go-to breakfast. Unfortunately, the bacon was overly salty (inedible to eat) and there was no black pudding. Otherwise, cooked well. The room itself (king room - number 11) at first glance looked quite posh and inviting. Unfortunately, it went downhill from here. The bathroom was spacious, but the shower was difficult to use to get to the correct setting; and turning it off without having very hot water splashing everywhere. The top of the bed was covered with cushions. Unnecessary and in the way! I had an awful shock once I looked at the pillows and removed the duvet cover!! HAIRS EVERYWHERE!! I felt sick. As I pulled down the duvet, more and more hairs were found - on both sides of the bed. Also, a dead fly on the floor and another flying around. I removed the hairs and just couldn’t relax. It was disgusting. I don’t ever complain (I shy away from confrontation and people trying to fob me off, hence this review). I hope the hotel improve their hygiene standards as it could be a gem. So disappointed."

"This is a really lovely small hotel. All the amenities are there and are fantastic but for the amount paid I think my room needed some tidying up around the edges really. The reception in our living room tv for terrestrial channels was poor, some of the decor needed a bit of tlc, tiles on the bathroom floor were a little loose, a bulb out in the bathroom and I’m not sure what the screen in the shower was for, maybe a tv that no longer works. I feel a bit guilty mentioning this stuff because we had a great time and the beds were super comfortable."
