A very satisfied stay at the Hawksmoor Guest House. The staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was amazing and cooked from scratch. Our room was available earlier than stated and was very clean and comfortable. The location was great too, just a 15 minute walk to the town and Lake Windermere. We would highly recommend a stay here!! The Hollands!!

A cosy guest house in walking distance to the main shops and boat cruises on Lake Windermere. Quiet location with good parking outside. Clean room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff.

The property was clean and had a peaceful ambiance. It felt like home away from home. The water pressure in the shower was slightly erratic but it didn’t spoil our experience.

Overall, we had a nice stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was large and modern. One thing to be aware of is that there’s no elevator (that I’m aware of), so carrying heavy bags up the stairs can be challenging. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8am, which may be inconvenient for early risers. Clearer instructions would be helpful for guests not from the UK, especially for things like turning the heated towel rack and heated floors on and off. The TV was a bit unreliable and didn’t always work consistently, possibly due to the remote or the TV itself being outdated. On the positive side, breakfast was enjoyable and freshly cooked to order. Overall, a pleasant stay with a few small areas that could be improved.
