Perfect
A stylish little property tucked away in the countryside. Horse, sheep and wildlife for company . Comfortable bed. Breakfast and vases of flowers,wonderful touches. Great restaurant recommendations from the host. Just PERFECT

Not quite what we're after
Clean, crisp, cozy, and friendly hosts. But just not quite what we're after. Room for improvement with a screen door, rather than a shower curtain to mitigate the stormy weather for privacy in the outdoor shower/toilet. And clearer description that there aren't any cooking or kitchen facilities in the cabin; we'd planned to cook a quiet meal on site, so instead had to go into the city to eat. Perhaps a little outdoor bench with a gas cooker next to the outdoor table and chairs? The place was very small, but cozy. But we'd really been after something completely isolated and not across from the house and carport. Please note, the hosts were great and giving us complete privacy, but it was just not quite what we were after.

Wonderful
The property is clean, cosy, quiet, and has amazing views. The room is very comfortable. The hosts are super kind and polite. It is as advertised - rainwater, outdoor bathroom, one bedroom with basic kitchen etc. We would definitely recommend for couples and hope to return. The in room guest book is filled with messages from people who have loved staying here. The animals are a bonus and the bird songs are beautiful.

Rustic cabin in rural setting
Cabin was exceptionally clean, hosts were welcoming. Aged in our 70’s we were not so keen on having to go outside to use the bathroom, although it too was very clean. Overnight rain made the journey to have a shower a little awkward.

Great location
I stayed here for two nights in February 2023 after the cyclone, so no power and many road slips. However Kate was very friendly and accommodating. It's a great spot overlooking farm/grazing land, and hard to believe only a few minutes from Whangārei. I would stay here again.

The cutest little cabin. Very much enjoyed being visited by Winston the cat as I had to leave my own kitty at home for this trip. Nice and quiet away from the city.

Small hide away
We were looking forward to meeting Kate but unfortunately we didn’t stay. The room was very small with only one kitchen chair. The bed was quite short, my partner’s feet would have hung out of the bottom his height is 5/8. The outside bathroom would have been ok in the summer, but the day we arrived it was very windy. All in all, although Kate had been so kind in leaving some homemade biscuits milk and bread, it just didn’t suit us.

Disappointed to get this review as everything that was commented on is all written up on our page with photos to show room and out lovely undercover bathroom area so there are no surprises when guests book. We pride ourselves on having affordable clean accomodation that is located in the most beautiful spot.

Country Cabin
Lovely cosy little cabin nestled in a rural setting with views over the paddocks. Loved the privacy of the open-air bathroom but probably suited more to the warmer/drier months. Friendly hosts and adorable animals make you feel right at home. There is much to explore in the area and we hope to come back in the summer.

Photos online were spot on. Easy process to book with fantastic communication throughout. Presentation of property was awesome: lovely and clean with beautiful scent greeting us. The outdoor nature of bathroom attached was a delight as was the good pressure on hot shower. Lots of nice personal touches. Visits from family dog Chelsea added that touch of home for us. The get away from life's busyness
Absolutely loved the solitude, its what I needed was complete rest. I knew just by the photos posted of the cabin and the cute animals that this would be my little gem, and it was exactly that. Loved the peace and quiet and serenity. I came away rested and ready to tackle the outside world. Thank you to my hosts who were nice and friendly. This will definitely be my "Go To Place" when ever i need complete rest. Highly recommended.
