"Room was really lovely. a superior double, with large spacious bathroom. only i couldn't lock the bedroom door when leaving to go out. left key with reception for repair but only partial repaired. Needed to lift door to lock and also to open. not only could i not lock the door but when they finally got it locked we couldn't open it. fire risk. hotel was really good otherwise, great food a comfortable surroundings. on the second night there was a private party in the main restaurant. we ate in the bar area which was fine. when heading back to the room had to got outside to reenter as wasn't allowed to walk through the bar and through reception. i asked what if its raining to the response of "its only a bit of water!!!" staff could do with some training as door locking issue should have been reported by housekeeping and repaired before occupancy. if there were any issues in the early hours, not sure what could have happened. Otherwise, nice hotel would stay again if issues were resolved."

"A really nice small hotel within a 20min walk to singer station with direct trains to Glasgow. Nice pub downstairs, rooms could do with updating but very clean and practical. A good place if you are out all of the day and just need a place to sleep."
