Excellent location! So close to food/transport/attractions. Room was incredibly compact but had an amazing view over the fire station. Main grumble is the app didn't work as an alternative to a key card and that was the only reason I downloaded it.

Haka House Wellington - our whanau, 3 tamariki and mama have had the best stay. Our accommodation was perfect for us. Situated in a great location for our needs. Staff are friendly warm and inviting and such a pleasure to have had met them. Andreas' nga mihi koutou katoa. (Thank you all) I highly recommend Haka House Wellington. Great stay, so much so the kids did not want to leave. Great experience, Ihipera and tamariki 👌👍😀

Excellent proximity to CBD and good value hotel/hostel. Big kitchen / dining areas, reception people were helpful, lifts work well. Room was well prepared. Shared toilet / bathroom areas seemed to get messy during the day; despite being cleaned earlier on.

Great location + very walkable to all the sights.

I had a wonderful visit in Wellington. Haka House was easy to get to from the airport. And the surrounding area had a lot of food options. It is conveniently located to all the sights, made walking to them accessible without having to catch a bus or call an Uber. I love it that the staff were all very friendly. I had a great experience and have already recommended Haka House to a friend who plans to visit Auckland.

I just needed a place that was central city for one night. The room was wonderful, the locaation was perfect and the cost was fantastic. Even with so many people and rooms it was actually very quiet when i was in my room.

The pictures of the property were a far cry from reality. Both on the outside and the inside. Worst of all our floor smelt of wet shoes and dirty clothing, and the bedding was stained and looked like it had not been changed.

Considering the property is in the middle of renovations, our rooms were clean and tidy and perfect for us. One of the bunks was damaged, so they provided us the room next door at no extra cost. We had no hot water in our ensuite shower for any of the 3 nights we stayed, but could at least still access the communal bathroom facilities. The communal kitchen was great, however more bench cloths were needed, and more frequent cleaning would gave made it more appealing.

We booked a super twin bedroom, which we did not get. The room was clean but there were no facilities for making a cup of coffee. We had to go down stairs if we wanted a drink.

I had a great time! I stayed 4 days in the 4 bedroom dorm. The hostel is right by CBD and everything is walkable and there’s a big bus station near bye. Heaps of cafés, restaurants, bars etc. the hostel is clean and u have everything u need. Amazing staff who’s always helpful friendly. I highly recommend staying here. The room had a comfy bed who has a shelf with outlets (also usb) and a locker near bye where u can fit a sport bag also has 2 outlets. But u need to bring ur own padlock. Quiet hours are between 10pm-7am and it was quiet at night. ✨ parking is free in front of the building between 8pm-8am after fees apply also watch out to not park at the bus stop before 8pm. Parking app is helpful (PayMyPark) because it tells u exactly if ur allowed to park or not.

Our top bunk had no railing or mattress so we were given a second room for free! However, one room had no hot water in the shower and the other had no cold water in the shower. The hot water urn was out of order in the shared kitchen and there were no kettles, so the staff used their space to bring us hot water. The key cards stopped working each day, so we had to keep getting these reprogrammed at reception. Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved our room.

A total gem. We were blown away with how awesome this place was in every way. First, it's totally clean, inside and out. Room is clean, restrooms, hallway; someone definitely cares about this place. Second, parking was a total breeze. While their location is in downtown, there is plenty of street parking right next to the hotel that is free at night. I suppose this might be a costly proposition if you need to leave a car there during the day, but for staying overnight this is perfect, free and convenient. Also, the ferry is just 8 minutes drive away in case you're headed to the South Island. Thirdly, the staff is polite, energized and knowledgeable. Lastly, while the place is under renovation, it didn't impede our stay in any way. Frankly, this place exceeded my expectations in every way and made me wonder why some folks are complaining about in their reviews...

Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids felt welcome here. Supringly quiet and dark rooms, loved the curtains on the bunks. Staff were great. Great to have a supermarket and are Te Papa on doorstep. Some instant coffee and a couple of tea bags would have been a nice touch.
