"We had a lovely stay at the guesthouse starting with a very nice dinner at their restaurant. Our room was spacious with beds spread out in different areas. Our deck overlooked the goats and mountains. It is a beautiful place!"

If a restful holiday is part of your travel plans, Black Sand Beach might be the perfect place to visit during your trip to Vik I Myrdal. While you're here, you can savour the top-notch restaurants.
Good launch point for visits to Reynisfjara, Dyrhólaey, and attractions across central south Iceland. Not much happening in Vik itself -- it's a very small town. But there are a couple good dining options, a pub, and a great coffee shop.

If you're in Vik and love coffee, you must visit Skool Beans- it's run out of a school bus and it has the best coffee I've had in a very long time. They also have super cool souvenirs.

Great access to experience and see the south coast. Very close to the black sand beaches and We did a Katla ice cave tour with pickup over the road behind the supermarket. We also had a lovely dinner at black crust pizza.

The restaurant Sudbury Vik is fabulous. Get the cheese platter! Book an ice cave tour because it's phenomenal. Make sure you go to the Lava Show!

Restaurant options were limited, but we had a couple good dinners in Vik. All three popular beach trips were well worth the effort.

The black sand beach is a 5 minute drive away. Vik town centre is a 10 minute drive away. Not walkable in the winter. You definitely need a car.
"This was a great apartment to rent. Easy to checkin my code thru email. Place was clean and had everything we needed. The only downside was that we had no idea how to control the heat. It was extremely hot (radiant floor heat in one bedroom) so we had to open windows and doors at times."
"We liked the dry sauna, hot tub was fun but very busy so we couldn’t go in. 8 people max. There’s a gym on the property. The view was beautiful from any room. The people were all friendly and took an interest in our travels! "
"Quiet location off main highway near to Vik. Very good dinner and nice breakfast with scrambled eggs if requested. Rooms seem to be well sound-proofed but floor surface in common hallway makes rolling a suitcase quite noisy."
