Broken fridge
Just returned from 4 nights stay in flat 4 on top floor. Met by host 10 mins after arrival. Stairs to flat were manageable but may be difficult for some people. The stairway also had the bad sewage drain smell. First impressions flat 4 is a duplex flat with kitchen bathroom and dining on ground floor and bedroom with sitting area up another very steep set of wooden stairs. There is a lovely private veranda overlooking the roof tops. Host explained to us that the fridge was broken and the coffee machine was leaking. He stated the fridge would be replaced the following day. The following day no new fridge appeared and I again spoke to the host who stated it would maybe now be the following day!! Needless to say the fridge never appeared during our four night stay. This severely restricted the use of the apartment as we were unable to use the apartment to eat in. Not a problem you might say as were in Venice with plenty of places to eat out. Wrong it rained solidly for the 4 days we were there which has caused severe flooding to the south of Venice!! Contacted the host on our departure to complain about the fridge and lack of communication. Overall we were disappointed with the accommodation and would not recommend.

We originally booked a two-night stay with this property. Overall, the entire building - from the entrance to the apartment unit itself - felt very unsafe and unclean. We arrived for our check-in (any time between 2-9PM) and no one was available at the front desk. The building manager spoke to us over the intercom and was able to unlock the door remotely without even verifying our information. The blinds were broken and unable to be closed creating an immense lack of privacy. Our unit was dusty as if it had not been cleaned since the previous guest(s). Additionally, there were leftover water bottles from the previous guest(s) in the fridge. We decided to end our stay that same night and check into another hotel. We had left a jacket in the closet and when we reached out to the manager to see if it was found, he said nothing was left. This either shows that the managers do not clean out the units between visits or they choose to keep guests’ items without any sort of “Lost and Found”. Happy we left the property early and found a more accommodating hotel. Would not recommend this property to anyone.
