We loved our stay at the boutique hotel Piedra Escondida. The hotel is simple and nostalgic, almost a step back in time. The staff are super friendly and the included a la carte breakfast is wonderful. We felt very welcome and safe here.

My son and I had a great stay for four nights. The staff was attentive, and the structure of the propinase it very convenient. They have parking across the street, the restaurant is just across the patio from the 8 rooms, and the beach is less than one minute from the rooms.

This is a lovely place to stay, with small and quiet beach, away from the many people who stay on the longer beaches at the bigger resorts. It feels contained and friendly, and you can walk to those long open beaches if you want to.

I really enjoyed my stay. I came by myself and I would most definitely stay again. Service was great. Perfect if your goal for your stay is to just relax. My one and only issue with this hotel is there was no iron and there were minimal food options for dinner. Other than that, wonderful stay

Romantic authentic hotel

The hotel is located directly by the beach. The style is cosy, comfortable and Tulum- authentic. Direct and private access to the beach, sunshades and beach chairs provided. Excellent breakfast and food in general, fair prices. The place would benefit from a deep cleaning, except the restaurant which was always impeccable. I would recommend this place for those who seek a romantic location by the beach, far from the modern fancy style that so many of the new hotels offer- and which is reflected in their pricing.

Martin is a cool host and easy going. He made the stay very nice. My only compliment is there is no pool and there isn’t clean beach you have to drive a mile or so down the road and pay for a beach club.

This was our first visit to Tulum and we were given the best recommendations from the hotel staff. The services were beyond amazing, and friendly. We loved our stay at Piedra Escondida and will definitely return! It felt like home - private, personal, exceptional service and hospitality. All the staff knew us by name and felt like old friends. Daily cooked breakfast with the sunrise and sound of waves...can’t beat it. Really felt like our own little oasis. Zero complaints!

I loved this place. I stayed here before going to a retreat and it was exactly what I needed. I stayed in the superior double room. I had a view of the ocean & steps from the ocean. There is a small private beach but because of the seaweed wasn’t swimmable. There’s access to a public beach a short walk away and I swam there . The food was amazing , the breakfast was included and there were many options for breakfast. If you’re looking for quiet this place is it. I went to sleep with the sound of the ocean which was very relaxing. The Staff was always friendly and helpful, Nayeli was lovely and always very helpful. Will definitely return!

Secret Paradise

It was paradise! The staff are super friendly and helpful. Even though the place may be older than most other places there it has been well looked after and the atmosphere is exactly what we wanted! We didnt even mind the sargassum, however if that was not an issue there, the place would be a perfect place to soak in the water too. We would definitely stay here again and again! Piedra Escondida is a delightful, relaxed, cute hotel nestled on a picturesque cove in Tulum. My second floor room was very comfortable with a lovely balcony perfect for staring out at the sea and listening to the sounds of the waves and birds. All the staff are extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. The meals at the hotel's restaurant, Molcajete, were fabulous, and I enjoyed a wonderful grilled octopus and a tangy, fresh ceviche with a basket of tortilla chips on the beach one day. The breakfasts were all amazing too. The outdoor dining patio is gorgeous. Highly recommended.

Perfect location, but a pity that there was too much seaweed. The hotel does a lot to remove it, but in our case it was impossible to enter the water. Appartments are very nice, but when you are a light sleeper, ask for a room that is not close to the road behind. For us it was no problem.

We loved our stay at this hotel for three nights. Our room had an incredible ocean view and we could hear the waves in bed, which was special. It’s set on the beach so you walk across the sand to get to your room each evening and breakfast each morning. The room was big and very clean, and the hotel itself felt very relaxing and charming. The hotel team were all so friendly and helpful. Breakfast each morning was delicious with lots of choice, and the happy hour cocktails were great too! There are restaurants within walking distance from the hotel and it’s easy to get taxis too, although these aren’t cheap. We rented bikes from across the road to visit a cenote and the ruins. We preferred staying in this quiet part of Tulum rather than the party zone.
