I had an amazing experience at Otonomus Hotel Tulum. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was outstanding, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained throughout my stay, making it feel like a real home away from home. The pool area was one of my favorite parts of the hotel, relaxing, clean, and perfect for unwinding after exploring Tulum. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend Otonomus Tulum to anyone visiting the area. It’s the perfect mix of comfort, cleanliness, and warm hospitality.

This hotel is beautiful, very modern and spacious. I loved having my own pool area. The concierge was very attentive. The only issue is there isnt much near the hotel. So its necessary to have transportation to get around.

There was nothing provided as far as hotel accessories go, for an extra towel you had to pay. There is nothing in walking distance and you need transportation any where you go. Staff was receptive but amenities suck.

Nice clean environment better than 5 stars hotels in my opinion if you ever need help, they are just a phone call away or there is always someone on the front desk… the pool in the main floor is very clean and Jacuzzi’s on the roof as well. I would consider on staying with them again soon.

The property look amazing, super clean & fresh Location is perfect, with easy access and close to local attractions and restaurants The room was spotless, beautifully decorated and very comfortable Had the Studio with a private pool on the roof top, OMG the experience especially on the sunset I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay

The hotel is great. However, definitely rent a car, or bike. Not much within walking distance. The only thing I didn’t like about this hotel was that the running water in the rooms (definitely not drinking water, as expected in Mexico) had a strong chlorine smell, like pool water. I had to use bottled water to brush my teeth.

This hotel is very modern and new. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. Balcony pool was great on a very hot and humid day. We were saddened by the properties perimeter as there was a lot of construction debris from what appears to have been thrown off the building during construction.

Construction noise every day 9:00-5:00 pm. Stoves & oven extremely slow. Beds were hard like a rock. Nothing on walking distance. Beach 30-45 minutes away however Expedia advised 5 minutes walk to beach. Extremely dangerous walking on roadways. No sidewalk to walk requires to walk on road with fast vehicles driving right by you. Very disappointing stay & everywhere requires extremely expensive taxis. Majority of the information is false on Expedia don’t believe anything.

Dionisio at the hotel was extremely helpful with the reservation and also recommending and booking beach club space for us. The rooms are new, well equipped (doesn't have hairdryers currently, FYI) and a good place. You will need a car to get into Tulum. Would recommend the place.

The property was spacious and the private rooftop pool was nice. You could see the ocean from the rooftop. Staff was friendly. The beds and sofa futon were very uncomfortable. We had no hot or even warm water the entire week and water in the showers drained only after hours or sometimes a day.

Horrible I had a 7 night stay here and the first day while trying to check in there was no power I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and believed them as they am told me a story about a festival in the city that made the power go out and there was no festival the front desk guy Kurt was horrible and useless. He avoided me when I tried to get a refund. Out of 7 nights I stayed 4 and every night and morning the powers would be out and through out the day. And when I asked for a refund back for 4 out of the 7 nights because we didn't get to sleep or anything they refused and argued until they finally agreed to give 50% back even though we left on the 3rd day they were so unprofessional and lacked everything in a good hotel they charge for towels even when they have no power I can go on and on about this hotel but trust when I say this do not book with this place and the owner tried to hide what he was saying by speaking Spanish and didn't know I understand everything he was saying so stay away from here.

Ghost hotel

The hotel is situated so isolated that it almost feel unsafe. The reception is only staffed until 7pm and no amenities, services, food, minibar or anything. My room had a roof top pool, but it was not able to lock the door to the roof, and the door between the room next door (from the roof) was not locked either. Basically the room next door could walk freely into my room and vice versa. Not safe.

This aparthotel is absolutely beautiful! We stayed in a 1 bedroom with private rooftop pool and sea view and we were not disappointed. My children used our private pool and the property pool everyday. It was nice coming back to a place big enough for a family of four. We had a balcony to just sit and relax on which was separate from the beautiful rooftop balcony that had our private pool! It is a fairly new property, so it was extremely clean and well-kept. It was also nice to have the front desk responding to our needs so quickly. The 3 staff we encountered were all very nice and helpful. Just a heads up though — although it is not a far walk from the beach/hotel zone, there are no sidewalks to walk on the narrow road, making it a not-so-safe walk. We ended up taking a taxi everywhere, which quickly added up as they are quite expensive. All in all, we would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to our friends!

A family of 5 spent a night at otonomus tulum t on july 4th 2025 thie place is mazing don't get me wrong nice pool, nice room with a lot space 1.5 bathroom, kitchen, washer a very nice hotel but we had a problem that was never solved they only left 2 towels for the whole family i requested more and he said they didn't leave extra ones, also request beach towels for the pool he said the same thing again, i requested a blanket for my son because there was only 2 hey said the same thing my son had to use pillow cases to cover himself up and also the remont control for the fan was missing i couldn't turn it on all that got me upset about it the problem here is that at night there is nobody in charge at the lobby but the secuity guard ( he was always nice and doesn't know waht to do he does what he is able to. He called several times to someone in charge about my needs nobody picked up the phone following day i see the person in charge for the day His name is Kurt i explained the situation he didn't say anything he stayed quite he didn't apologize. If you are planning on staying at Otonomus and arrive late you may experience the same situacion as we did after all it is a beautiful place i would recommend to call the property if you are nit getting at the time of the check in about basic needs!! For the hotel pay someone at night to give full service trying to save money having a security guard doing something that is not his task
