"Lovely staff BUT not a comfortable stay for female alone. Arrived unsure if the hotel was actually functioning as all the lights were off in the smoked glass reception. It was 5.30pm and nearly dark. Discovered there were only 2 other rooms booked. Room was upgraded so larger but layout meant all plug sockets were inaccessible so all had extension leads. Seemed to be a drainage issue - looked and basin v slow. As a lady alone.... Back door needs BOLTs not a twisty know that you can't check if its locked. No outside lighting so when I went out to dinner I had to use phone torch to lock door and to make sure I didn't fall over as no lighting until lane at front. Remote on TV had flat batteries - popped to reception 15 mins after I checked in to find it closed until the morning. The isolation and darkness made me feel vulnerable. Apart from delightful staff and reasonable breakfast, not much I can add!"

"The woman at the desk was amazing! Quickly checked in and took us to our room. We booked the suite for 4 adults. Lovely place, quite disjointed but really cool! Super clean and tidy and brand new. However, the lounge isn't really a spot to relax in, it wasn't comfortable or well set out. The finishing of the painting, plastering and tiling is awful! They must have done it themselves to keep price down? Didn't affect our stay but if we hadn't got a half price deal we would have been really unhappy with the price we paid. Awesome location! Bed was super hard but I had a great sleep."

"What a gorgeous place to stay..a very unique and boutique hotel and a real feeling of the history of this place. Beautiful decorations... very sweet comfortable room... and then how lovely stepping out of the hotel literally onto the beach! The meals in the restaurant were superb -with great attention to detail and using locally sourced fresh ingredients and flavours of Aotearoa. I enjoyed a tasting flight of lovely local wine Staff were all very genuine and friendly. I can't wait to book again with friends and family"

"The noise in the room from other guests was off the charts. There is a central corridor connecting the rooms and all the noise from kids, people talking etc comes straight under the door into the room. I barely slept"

"I had a wonderful stay and was genuinely impressed. The apartment exceeded my expectation, it was even nicer than the photos, and the view was absolutely stunning. Everything was spotless, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the restaurant food was delicious. The location was perfect, with everything close by, and it catered beautifully for my children. The five spa pools were a real highlight, and having a park just across the road was an added bonus. I would also like to give a special mention to Tama, who is truly an incredible asset to your team. My son had been unwell in the car, and as I was alone with two boys, I was feeling quite overwhelmed. Tama noticed this and went above and beyond to help me clean my car and car seats something not many people would offer to do. His kindness and willingness to help meant so much to me. Thank you so much, Tama you truly make this place special."

"The unit was clean, in good condition, and the bed was comfortable. Getting in the unit was no problem. We would stay here again."
