"When we arrived at the Griffin, to our surprise, our reservation was canceled. Apparently, the Griffin had a water leak and were in the process of repairing the damage. They said that an email was sent to us canceling our reservations 2 days prior. We were on a cruise at the time and did not get this email because we had no service while on the cruise. "Fantastic place. Lucky enough to find The Fox after being let down by The Running Horse and were delighted. "Nicely converted stables tucked away in a lovely position. Although just off the main road, we could not hear the traffic noise. Lovely grounds, peaceful and tranquil. The rooms are conveniently opposite the granary where breakfast was laid out. Great selection for a continental breakfast - cheeses, meats, fruits, cereals, breakfast bars, a variety of breads too. Jean is absolutely lovely. She kept us amused and nothing was too much trouble."

"The hotel looked lovely but unfortunately we didn't get to stay. Turned up to find hotels.com had not passed out booking into hotel so left with nowhere to stay in remote countryside. I'd recommend the eco lodge - staff were lovely but not hotels.com -it took almost a month to get a refund only by going via my bank's anti fraud process."

"The apartment is in a great location and the info you receive is thorough. Make sure you ask for parking though as it is limited. The apartment was very clean. Our door lock came loose and they helped us within 30 minutes which was really good. The only negatives were that the windows are so thin in places you can hear the traffic and the mattresses were a bit firm for us but if we were in Southampton we would definitely book here again. Great customer service and the space is perfect. "
