The old concrete perimeter track on the site of RAF Southrop Sheep pasture now but between 1940 and 1947 this was a relief landing ground known as RAF Southrop used by Oxford and Harvard training aircraft. Records indicate that this large flat area east of Cirencester proved an ideal grass landing strip.

Room sold as water view didn’t have proper view of the lake. Bathroom was shabby, paint on door and floor and towel rail was clinging on by a thread. Old boathouse food was very mediocre and disappointing.
