The area may seem out in the sticks but just at the bottom of the hill if you turn right from the estate is a trusty bus service 516 taking uou to ambleside where the bus services there can take you all round and opentop buses.Just by the bus stop iin skelwith is a lovely pub with really good food .then up the other road to your right from the bus stop is a great cafe with yummy cakes .a walk up from there is skelwith force with a moderate walk to nearby villages with amazing views and great food serving ..so all in all really good place to stay and enjoy the views and sample good lake district hospitality.
