"A very quiet peaceful break away food was very good the staff were friendly and welcoming. Located right on the lake so views were amazing lovely clean room would highly recommend a visit."
"Great base, quiet, homely, close to shops and amazing view. The property was just the riht size for the three of us.
Easy parking for small to moderate car."
"The cottage is well equipped for self-catering for a family of 4. The beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of space in the living / dining areas.
Quiet and with easy access to the heart of Ambleside, it is in a great location."
"High Ridge is perfectly situated right in the middle of Ambleside. However, it really does need some TLC. There are damp patches on the walls , the bed linen is rather questionable, & the window blinds are just simply dreadful . They let light in, don’t work properly & are very tatty indeed.
The furnishings are of poor quality & there are just far too many dreadful pictures on the walls.
The kitchen & bathroom are good but the rest of the property needs a jolly good face lift . Having said...

10/10 Excellent
"A small B&B but everything is done to perfection. My room had a lovely view of the mountain & church. The bed was comfy, everything was spotlessly cleaned. Breakfasts were always well-prepared and the best of what we had for our entire trip including our stay at much bigger hotels.
We had a little problem finding the parking lot the first day. I walked in and checked with Giles how to circle back. Without asking, when we drove back, Giles had already hung out in the front waiting to help us to park our car. Giles and Andrea were always busy, but they never refused to answer questions or offer help.
Thank you very much for the pleasant stay!

"Had a few days in The Lakes while visiting family in the UK and attending the Oasis concert in London. We could not have been happier with The Ambleside Inn - totally excellent stay. Great location, wonderful staff (thank you) and although no onsite parking there are lots very close to the Inn and the short stay (30 min) drop off is right outside.
Highlights: clean and pretty well kept, despite it being super busy (it was July!), with a really good breakfast and a nice cozy bar plus Pub Food in the evenings. Lots of excellent places to eat in town and all very walk-able and of course it's an extremely picturesque town / setting. Everything in the room worked well and we were pleased with the amenities.
Be warned: NO ELEVATOR (aka lift). So if you've got a ton of international size cases it's certainly a challenge getting to the higher floors.
Would we go back? Yes; very probably. We have stayed elsewhere in Ambleside, and the lakes, several times before, but the location, staff and amenities would probably mean this is the best place we've stayed.
Greatly appreciated the welcome and had a really good visit. Thank you."
"Brantfells hosts Adie and Mandy were lovely , very friendly and informative . Accommodation was spotless and catered for everything .Breakfasts really good too"
"We experienced the friendliest welcome. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast options were superb.
I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here."
"All the staff were very knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough for you. All the food was excellent quality and would highly recommend going to the restaurant for dinner - the drinks were expertly served, and the food was some of the best meals we’ve ever had! Perfect setting for a relaxing and reset away."
"Spacious, comofrtable room. Cool in the heatwave. Good sleep. Plenty of options for meals nearby.
Parking is in public pay-car-park, but cheap rate overnight after 7pm"
