"We’ve just spent six nights in the beautiful Catalonia Porto Hotel. Everything about this hotel is perfect. Check in was quick and reception staff always most professional and helpful. We felt secure as you need a room key to operate the lifts, there are adequate lifts and never a queue. Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean and welcoming. Our superior room was spacious and comfortable and although it overlooked road, it was very peaceful and we had a good sleep in the comfortable beds. Our room was kept lovely and clean with nice fluffy towels, robes, slippers and excellent lighting. Breakfast was amazing, well done to all the breakfast staff, lots of choice, very fresh, we love the orange juice machine! All fresh food was regularly replenished and breakfast really set us up for the day. As we booked a superior room we were entitled to a daily spa visit, which was most welcome after walking around Porto all day. The massage jets in the indoor pool, cold ice if you want it and a sauna were refreshing. We used the outdoor pool every day, as did a few other guests but it is only for the brave in late September! The hotel is well located, within easy walking distance of the hop on hop off buses, the funicular railway and many restaurants and cafes. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was delicious! We highly recommend the Catalonia Porto Hotel, a pleasant oasis in the middle of a very busy city, we couldn’t have made a better choice!

The walk down takes about 20 min to the waterfront. The funicular 4 euro leaves you 5 minute walk to hotel. "
