"Lots of good, more recent replenishments, like the bathroom, the dining area, and the great swimming pool, hot tub, saunas. Nice well-tended gardens. Great service. But a lot of windows painted immovably shut. And the food was a big let-down. We arrived on Sunday for Sunday dinner at 8, couldn't eat our mains. Breakfasts had the feel of having sat a long time after cooking, bacon burnt to a crisp on 2 out of 4 breakfasts."

"We enjoyed the nature around the property. Rooms were clean and the staff was so friendly. Breakfast and Dinner were also terrific. I would have liked to see a safe in the room. For us, the pillows were hard, perhaps some less firm pillows? Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend! "

"Hmmm ... it was a very nice hotel (in 1965). It has retained some of its characteristics from then until the 90s, but is now a little dated. Location is fine, but with nothing open around it (early May is not peak holiday season) it felt a little isolated. After a 6 hour motorcycle journey, Aviemore itself was just too far away so had to stay in. The evening meal at £25 each felt a bit steep, but the buffet meal was ok. Sweets were limited to a choice of four gateaux (very 80s) or ice cream in a...
