"Lovely brand new hotel with nice room decor. Good sound proofing and outside balcony. The hotel is not central Funchal. It's about a 40 minute walk into the centre. However, we like walking so for us it was a great. The walk into Funchal is lovely. In addition, there is a shopping centre and many restaurants close by. The breakfast was reasonable but not outstanding. Very much a self service concept including coffee making machines. The only real negative was that although the balcony is spacious the rooms themselves are on the small side. When the weather is good you can be outside on the balcony but if the weather is bad there is not any coffee table or seating for two people to sit other than the bed. "

"I don’t recommend this place to anyone. There is no WiFi, no electric plugs points, not sufficient lighting in the room. Pay extra to use the safety deposit box. Has a kettle but no coffee or tea. The two female Reception staff are extremely rude. I will not employ them if it is my hotel. Our room was 1016. "

"Hotel very nice, good location, mostly friendly staff, breakfast good, buffet lunch very poor, buffet dinner poor, food not of good quality, meats either overcooked, left too long or tough plus poor choice, chicken and pasta every lunch and dinner time. Run out of Breakfast Tea last two days. Italian restaurant was good, did not try Botanical restaurant as Menu was not appealing. Do not consider a five star hotel "
