Next to nice seaside resorts (Punta Gorda, Lido) and great walks, not far from the bus and supermarkets. "We had a good week. The apartment has everything you need for a self catering stay, sunny patio. comfortable lounge, well equipped kitchen. There is a little convenience store next door and a full range of shops about 1 km up the hill. The nearest resturants seemed to be about 3 km away so not walking distance and the traffic was a little busy but then it is everywhere in Funchal. The owner was very friendly did everything he could to make us welcome even though he did not have much English."

"My husband and I stayed at this property from Sep19-Sep26.2022. The unit has beautiful water views, but we could not enjoy the views as we had hoped. All around floor to ceiling windows become a curse when there is No air conditioning or ceiling fan. We needed to keep the blinds shut all day. "We really enjoyed our stay at Vila Formosa. It is in a great location, close to many restaurants and shopping. A short bus ride to Old Town Funchal. The apartment is is well equipped and spacious. The beach is nearby and has a nice promenade to wander along. Our host ,Natasha, also arranged transportation for us from the airport to the apartment. We would definitely return."

"Rental unit is located above a busy and loud shopping mall. So if you want a quieter place x this isn’t it. We were here only 3 nights and the in-unit washer broke on first use. Someone came to fix it the next day, but upon second use it broke again. We ended coming back and fixing it ourselves, YouTube to the rescue. Got our clothes out soaking wet and had to mop up the kitchen too. If you like to DIY around the house, stay here. "

"Hugo was an excellent host. Nothing was too much trouble. Our cleaning lady, Natalie, was warm, welcoming, thorough and very accommodating. Fully equipped apartment with everything you could possibly need already anticipated. The sun terrace was an added bonus especially when the coloured fairy lights automatically switched on at night! If you want comprehensive UK TV maybe bring a laptop to connect as channels were limited."
