Enjoyed my stay here. Clean, hot water, a beautiful kitchen, the air conditioner worked great and the bed was super comfortable! Price was affordable. The host was very good at keeping me updated and communication was 10/10. Definitely recommend!!

Good place if you're looking for a budget friendly find and will be out most of the time, however, it is located on a main street so it's quite noisy for light sleepers. The room itself was clean and spacious but would've appreciated to have more attention to detail such as having more bath towels as well as beach towels available for use. Functional seating and better lighting especially in the bathroom would be nice. The shared kitchen was nice to have but the utensils were rusty, the water dispenser was old, dirty with mineral build-up so buy your own water! I contacted the property manager hoping they could replace a bulb in the bathroom because it was very dim due to a bulb being out, but they didn't answer that message; they only answered when I inquired about parking our rental car later that day. Other than that the tv and wifi worked fine.

The Emerald is close to the beach and many reataurants. It was a short drive to Condado and Old San Juan. It also places you in the center of San Juan providing a more authentic experience. The room was spacious. The shower handles kept falling off but everything else in the room was fine. The filtered water machine in the kitchen did not work so we just bought bottled water to use instead. The power went out one evening but the generator kicked in after a few minutes and was able to provide enough power to keep the ac and lights on. Parking was not an issue even though we got in late the first night-just know its not like parking in the states, you drive onto a curb and wedge your car into what would never pass for a space here but is quite normal there. Adjust your expectations-this is not a resort-and you will be fine. If you want to pretend PR is a perfect retreat with no problems, stay in Condado instead. If you want to know what its really like to live in PR stay here.

Good location, safe area, walked around all times of the day and never felt unsafe. Room was clean. Near some good stores, restaurants. The host checked on me a few times during my stay. Was a 10 minute drive from everything I had planned which was a bunch of tourist stuff. Parking was decent, the self check in was nice. There was a community kitchen with plates and cups and other stuff you could use.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Emerald a ton! My space was extremely clean and up-to-date, while also having a lot of character - it felt like a much more authentic experience than staying at a resort high rise. Its location is fantastic too, as it's within easy walking distance of the beach, a Walgreen's for essentials, as well as a couple restaurants (including the famed Kasalta). It's also a block away from a bus line that runs from the airport to Old San Juan, hitting most of the touristy areas along the shore in between, so you don't necessarily have to depend on Uber to get around.

We like the convenient location, and amenities around! We think it needs to improve curtains, and include a chair or bench inside, an additional trash can, fix the bathroom handle. We like the place!!! We will use it again!!!
