Magical !!!
What a gem of a spot ! Really peaceful and private -felt like living in a forest but comfortable!!place modern and clean and great set up to relax … easy access to great walks and kayaking - dog loved it too !! Highly recommend ! Martin a pure joy to communicate with ,and super accommodating and helpful with adding extra nights here ,when we didn’t want to leave ! 😃

Comfortable and convenient
Lovely having a fire and plenty of hot water in the modern shower and kitchen. Furniture for everyone's needs, although one bedroom pretty crowded. A great base for exploring the region and the dog loved the endless supply of pinecones to play chasing with.

Forrest cottage
While it is a compact cottage, it is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Except a welcome pack or instructions for using the TV & DVD. Still don't know if you can get the basic tv channels as we were unsuccessful. Shame it's so close to the road as we heard a lot of traffic. Adding some rain cover to the pagoda, especially over the front door would be helpful as we hit a rainy few days. And an inside door mat to wipe your feet;)

Warm cosy house
The stay was short but did us well, woke to ducklings paddling in the pond near the house, very cute . The bush driveway to house is a beautiful entrance. The house itself was very cosy and warm and well equipped. Thank you for adjusting our booking to suit us. Landlord was excellent and communicated every step of the way.. house was very clean we had a wonderful stay . Thank you .

Only a 10 minute drive from Ohakune. Cozy, quiet, lovely cottage with everything you want. Easy check-in process. Was very easy to get in contact with the host. We loved every minute of our stay

If you are wanting a quiet country, relaxing place close to Oakune, this is worth it
Highly recommend this cottage tucked away behind pine forest in a quiet location. Cottage was clean, tidy, stylish with everything you need to enjoy your stay including dry firewood for the log burner. Lots of books to read and board games. We wished we could have stayed another couple of nights. Just 10 mins from Oakune too!

Character and Charm
We loved our stay. We were just passing through but I really wish I'd had longer. It was a charming cottage with all the amenities, including some friendly horses right next door! My dog, Juno, was so relaxed and it was a perfect spot to decompress. The artwork and oodles of books made it extra special. The kitchen is well stocked. The place was clean and tidy and there was lots of wood and kindling for the fire. The ONLY thing I would have loved (and my one small suggestion) would be a map of the property and an idea of where the trails are located. I also had no idea how to get the TV to work and there were no instructions. But with all the reading options, it was probably a blessing. Great hosts, they were very communicative and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this beautiful spot. Thank you!

House took forever to heat up
House was really cold, we lit the fire in the fireplace but nothing seem to be working. turned all heaters in one single room and 5 ppl stayed in one room to keep one room warm as possible. House was clean and tidy with plenty of board games for you to play. Another issue If you are checking in in the night, the house is very hard to find specially with instructions provided with the confirmation email.

Loved the wood burning fire with a great supply of wood, the cosy decor, comfortable beds, very well equipped kitchen, great choice of board games, extensive library, easy parking, the space and serenity of the location,only 35 mins from Whakapapa and Turoroa, and 10 mins to Ohakune. Disappointed only with the non-stop rain!

Our Stay in the Forest
We just loved the stay at this Bach, very rustic yet comfortable. The Bach has all the relevant amenities that you would need, with a lovely array of old style books, DVDs and player- took me back a few years. The place is very well suited to just relax with an awesome fireplace and heaps of dry wood. I can highly recommend this Bach for a getaway. Thank you

Perfect home for a weekend away for us. We hadn’t been away for over a year and needed to regroup. We played games, read, ate good food and went for walks. Lovely art and lots of books and a very comfortable couch!

Great hidden gem
Awesome time with great walks on the property and near by for the family and our dog. Equally close to both ski fields and raetihi is a lovely quiet little town. The house is nice and secluded and perfect for winding down after a day up the hill

Cosy and quiet setting
A very clean, cosy and peaceful cottage, loved the setting inside and out. Quite difficult to find the entrance at night but with the help of the good directions provided we found it. Although we had all heaters and the fireplace running it was still cold inside which was the only downfall. We arrived to the house all lit up for us, heaters on and an awesome surprise dog bone for my dogs bday. Thank you so much for the very kind thought 😄 A great bonus was the property being fully fenced (farm fencing) but it meant I could let my dog roam when we were there. We’ll be back for sure on our next visit!

Fantastic Easter escape
We had a lovely time. Everything you could need on holiday provided. Grounds were lovely and offered lots of fun walks around the house. Lovely river walk down the road and not too far from Ohakune. Definitely recommend this place as a fantastic city escape. Will be staying again. Dogs enjoyed themselves too.

Fabulous cosy house, great location to the mountain
We have stayed here before. It is a fabulous cosy house, very private and situated in great location close to the mountain and central plateau. The owner is very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We enjoyed relaxing here with family and friends and our dog enjoyed lying by the fire. We’ll be back!

Nice spot for a cute cottage
This was the 2nd of 3 baches that we stayed at during our holiday and we really loved our time here. The kids built a hut out of the fallen down trees and branches, we went walking up in the hills and played a lot of card games when we weren't out exploring the bike trails and walks in the region. Thanks for letting us stay at your property.

Well set up, comfortable house it suited us just fine for what we were doing. . Only issues we had were that the TV didn't work ( doesn't seem to have an aerial that we could see anyway) also we couldn't get the WIFI to work

Thanks for the review and feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay! The TV is set up for DVDs only, we have a wide selection of films at the cottage to enjoy. The WIFI password is on the back of the modem. Martin

Very cozy and homely for our winter break
The weather wasn’t very good so we spent a lot of time at the cottage not on the mountain but enjoyed walking on the property and catching up with our friends with the fire roaring. I would suggest having a mat inside front door or having under cover area outside for leaving your shoes because it was raining we brought in a bit of mud and grass from outside. Otherwise, we loved it!
