"The grounds were beautiful and quiet, and my wife and I enjoyed being on the outskirts of Gloucester and Rockport--yet close enough to visit them (and that gorgeous state park!) by car, and even on foot. The apartment is cozy, with a nice view of the well-tended gardens and what appears to be a hand-carved desk and chair, which were ideal for writing, reading, and sipping coffee. A clean, well-functioning coffeemaker is provided, along amenities such as coffee filters and aluminum foil. The bathroom is narrow--as is the shower stall--but we managed adequately enough in the space provided. The host is affable, but gave us plenty of privacy. He also responded promptly to questions and requests. I recommend this place highly. We hope to return soon."

"This is a nice property in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of room. We traveled with 11 people and never felt crowded. Property is on top of a hill so you’ll get some exercise coming and going, but the views alone are worth the effort. Every sunset was an event!The nearby sandy beach is worth the 10 minute walk. The rocky beach which is very close by was not so useful to us but the park bench above it was a nice place to sit and enjoy the views while walking the dogs. Pet friendly. House was clean, beds comfortable, 2 bathrooms one with a shower, one with a hot tub/shower. Kitchen is well stocked with pots pans utensils etc. tv on first and second floor. WiFi access. Large gas grill on porch as well as lots of porch furniture and a hammock. Air conditioning kept the place comfortable. There is a gas fireplace which we did not use but would be nice for a fall visit. Laundry facilities on the second floor. 10-15 min drive to stores, Good Harbor, Long Beach Gloucester. Communication with host was excellent. Would recommend this property."

"A lovely, cute, and quaint home that served as a base for us to explore Massachusetts and Southern Maine. The house was clean and had everything we needed and more for a wonderful stay. There is an adorable breakfast nook that just made the house feel that much more cozy. It was a pleasure communicating with the host, such fast and helpful responses. Walking to the little pebble beach nearby at sunset was the perfect treat to end our trip. I would recommend and revisit!"

"Stayed with family with several young children and we loved it. Kayaks, chairs, and a floating dock on a rocky beach, but a smooth sand beach right on the other side perfect for low tide. It was the 2nd time we've stayed here in the last 4 years, and will probably come back. Parking can be tight, and air conditioning only in the main bedrooms can get rough when you get a heat wave, but plenty of windows and an ocean breeze help."

"We’ve stayed at this particular house very often in the last 20 years, but during this trip, we were happy to enjoy many of the new upgrades, including honeycomb blinds for the bedrooms; functional central air AND several separately controllable AC units; a modern fridge and laundry machines.This is a very cozy place, and the beach access cannot be beaten. Great for families - except possibly folks that are less mobile. Plenty of amenities, including two kayaks, lots of beach chairs and towels, and a great outdoor eating spot. Whether you want an active vacation or a relaxing one, this house is really sweet."

"Wonderful views from the house and the deck. We ended up eating most of our meals on the deck. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and, for a coffee lover, lots of options for making coffee. Bed in master was comfortable and there was more than enough space for a couple.Location was great too. could walk the dog safely within the neighborhood and Plum Cove Beach was only a short walk away. Wasn't previously familiar with this side of Gloucester. Though the speed limits are low, there was very little traffic when we ventured out until we reached 128. We didn't hit Rockport on this trip, but it is just a short drive away, as is Halibut Point. Grocery store is within 15 minutes and had good prices relative to back home.We had an issue with the AC and received a prompt response from the listing company - someone was on site within 30 minutes. AC continued to have some problems (cutting off) but we found a work around. This was the only minor inconvenience of the stay."
